Trouble settling

My newborn is so hard to settle. I’ve got a next to me crib which I have my side of the bed I’ve put my arm with him. I feed him I change his nappy. I wind him, I cuddle him a little I don’t know what else to do

I know it’s not ideal but sometimes I lie my little boy on my chest topless, the contact helps him settle I gently tap or rub his back or bum aswell and it settles him completely. We’re all still learning your doing great it’s such a difficult but amazing time 💖

I’m in the same boat, he’s 5 days old and just will not settle we’re exhausted

It's completely normal and will get better. Newborns don't actually understand they are their own being, so being separated from mum is confusing for them and upsetting. With my first we got him used to it by putting him down bum first, white noise machine, hand in the crib/on his chest. With this newborn, she says eff off to all of that and will only so far sleep on me or dad

Get an electric heated mat and put that on the crib to warm it first (obv take it off before putting baby down). Bounce baby to sleep a bit and then gently lie them down. Good luck!

Just checking that you’re changing him before feeding and not after? He’s still so small and wants to be with his mama xx

Yep I’m changing him before however he has some poops that I have to change afterwards

those rouge poos! Praying it was just a fart…😂

My boy was exactly the same and my midwife told me to put the Moses basket into the next to me crib, as the crib is too big for them and they are used to small spaces from the womb.
I then put my arm on him and stroke his back or rock, seems to settle now x

this is what we did and it works wonders. He sleeps so much better.

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Silver cross pushchair

Has anybody had experience with the sliver cross cove or breeze? Me and my partner can’t make an agreement 😅 I like the cove but is it worth the extra money to the breeze?
