Washing newborn clothes

Does everyone wash their newborn clothes before use? I have washed everything I’ve bought so far, just about to pack hospital bag and bought some more bits. Just curious what everyone’s opinions on this are.

I spent ages washing mine and then she came 6 weeks early so we had to emergency buy loads of smaller clothes and obviously couldn’t wash them 😂 I don’t think it matters really

I’ve done all of mine and it did take forever. It may not make a blind bit of difference, so it’s down to what you feel comfortable with. X

I wash everything! Xx

Always wash any new clothes. It's not sanitary to use them without washing, specially for a baby.

I’ve washed everything. I got a few bits after my baby shower and literally washed the last of everything today. Babies skin is very sensitive so I just feel comfortable knowing that they will be wearing clean clothes. But I guess situation like Alex’s when baby comes early and you have to rush and buy smaller sizes then I get not being able to wash.

I washed everything with my first, but he was too tiny for newborn things. Partner bought smaller bits and bought them to the hospital and the nurse said i couldn't put them on him until they had been washed. He was in the nicu so that may of made a difference but i will wash everything now regardless. I have bought baby girl 2/3 tiny outfits this time just in case, so i will have time to buy and wash more if needed x

Edited to add: sometimes youve no idea what has happened to these clothes prior to you buying either, while in storage and even on the shop floor. They could have been dropped on the shops floor before being put back, someone could have coughed and sneezed on them etc x

I wash everything mainly because there's something on clothes that makes them a bit stiff and chemical smelling when new and I want everything fresh, soft and smelling lovely for my baby 👶 I don't bother washing new stuff for myself though because weirdly like the smell of new clothes!

Thanks everyone I have washed everything I have bought for Bubs and will continue to do so. Glad to hear most of you do the same! It’s true we don’t know what has happened to them before purchasing. Also the smell of fairy baby comfort in the house is just amazing 😍🥹

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(

Struggling in the 4 month regression

How are people getting out of the 4 month regression? I’ve been looking it up and it says I need to be trying to put him down drowsy but awake but this does not work for my LO. Every time we do this he ends up being wide awake and after almost an hour of trying we have to contact nap/rock to sleep. I want to avoid rocking to sleep because now when he wakes up in the night he needs to be rocked back to sleep which he never used to need.

Nights are constantly broken because we are up 2-3 times to rock him back to sleep. Please give me your tips on how to survive this and how to get out of this!! Constantly feel like I’m failing and doing something wrong
