First flight with toddler!

We’re going on our first flight with our son on Monday it’s only a short one to Holland.
Just wondering if anyone knows generally what we can take in our carry on like snacks etc!
I’ve not flown in years myself 😂
We’re flying with Ryanair, if anyone has any general advice or tips they’d be highly appreciated! 🙂

Following as we fly in a few in a few weeks for the first time too. I’ll have a two and four year old. I’m so nervous 🙈 I’ve just invested in an Amazon fire tablet for them but they’re not having it until we fly. I’m hoping the newness will be a novelty enough to use up an hour or two! 🤞🤞

As far as I'm aware there is no restrictions on taking dry snacks so packetted toddler snacks should be fine.
We did a 4 hour flight with our toddler last year and I had built up in my head it was going to be a nightmare however it was really easy and our daughter was an absolute dream even with an almost 2 hour delay too.
I did pack a little goody bag with some new toys in... nothing expensive just a few little fidget toys and the sort of stuff you get in party bags really. I wrapped them all up as individual presents and each time I felt she was getting a little bored or had potential to get restless she got to pick a prize out of the lucky dip bag...... worked a treat! I even re-wrapped for the way home and she enjoyed guessing which tpy.it might be before opening it 😊

Sticker books were a dream!

Bluey and Thomas episodes downloaded on the tablet.

Little car/train he pushed down the aisle and on the tray.

Magnetic writing/drawing board!

Hey, we flew last year our daughter was just over a year and a half. We did the same idea as Glynis and took a snack tray. Was much easier than having open packets all of the place. We downloaded her favourite shows on her tablet, took books, colours and stacking cups was a 3 hour flight and she was entertained throughout x

Thank you everyone! 🙌 so many helpful tips
The snack trays are such a good idea, I think I need some for me let alone the toddler 😂
And love the little gifts wrapped that’s a brilliant tip! 😄

We live in Holland but from England so constantly travel back and forth! I echo all the above for ideas. We also download an episode of a Julia Donaldson from iPlayer for the second half of the flight if we need 😊

On another note if you need tips of what to do with a toddler in Holland let me know!

thank you so much! My partner is Dutch so for him it was going home which is very handy for me 😂 we had a brilliant time I absolutely love Holland, however next time I would love to stay somewhere a bit more rural, not the centre of Rotterdam!
my son loved the plane trip it really is such a short flight ☺️

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

Separation Anxiety

Any of your children have separation anxiety. My son will be two soon and he still does not let us leave the room for even a few minutes without him following us. Is this the norm for anyone else??
