My son has tonsillitis and was prescribed antibiotics. Poor thing took them for a couple of days but when he started getting better he started to refuse - so I tasted a bit and it is DISGUSTING.
I remember being a kid and always getting some delicious banana flavoured antibiotics! Am I misremembering? Why do they give toddlers really horrible tasting stuff?
I was putting it in milk, but have no learned that this reduces the effectiveness a lot.
Does anyone have any tips on how to give it?
Or has anyone been given antibiotics for their kid(s) that has a pleasant flavour like I remember?

My sons has a couple of different ones. The worst he was was a pink one that tasted like battery acid. We ended up ringing 111 and getting a different one prescribed

They still do the banana flavoured one! We currently have it sitting in the fridge haha
BUT some viruses atm aren’t responding to it so they’re prescribing a different one
Ring 111 and see if you can get a different antibiotics if he isn’t taking them :)

I think our medicine used to have a lot of sugar, colouring, flavouring etc. But they've moved away from that for health reasons i assume.
I remember the banana and the strawberry
