Check with your airline as they’re all different. We flew with EasyJet when baby was 4 months. We were allowed his changing bag as cabin baggage and they allow two items of baby equipment to be checked into the hold for free. With some airlines, like WizzAir, they only allow one item to be checked in for free.

We took a lightweight stroller. You can use it all through the airport and leave it at the steps of the plane when you board. We then put baby in a carrier until we reached out seats but you could just carry them in your arms.

We flew with jet 2 when my little one was 6.5 months and baby was allowed two items. She was absolutely fine too don’t stress it! We bought a cheap cuggl stroller for abroad holidays! X

Like others have said check with the airline. I flew with my 4 month old and was allowed her travel pram with us in the cabin (jet2) but when I took her away again at 10 months old with the same airline, the same pram wasn’t allowed in the cabin 😬 if you leave it at the steps SOMETIMES they’ll give you on the other end but other times you’ll have to wait at baggage reclaim for it so I’d recommend taking a baby wrap/sling. No baggage allowance for them so make use of the full hand luggage allowance.

Did a transatlantic flight when bubs was 3months, we called the airline to get bassinet seat (even if we didn't use, extra legroom was great for soothing him). I have a doona so just took that with us. Used it in airport and checked it in at the gate, had bubba on a baby sling walking onto plane. Had to collect doona from baggage reclaim, so had him on sling when getting off too.
