Help and advise needed please!!

So my son is almost 7yo. He is in an after school program everyday. And I was just notified that my son exposed himself and told another student to expose themselves (peepees). I thought it must be something he thought was funny as they’re boys learning about their bodies. I talked about it to him about how he can’t be doing that. That was Friday. And now here comes Monday and he DID IT AGAIN. Please, if you have experience with your son or something similar happen and can 1. Offer me some advice on how to approach this discussion and the best things to say. And 2. Help give me some piece of mind that this isn’t a sign of something bigger that I need to worry about??? And that it’s just a kid and we can move past it??? I’m so stressed….

Awww babe I don’t know what advice to give you to make him stop but to make you feel more at ease when I was a kid like 6/7 yrs old my friend that was a boy said “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours” lol and we both did it and we are still friends to this day via social media and stuff- he didn’t end up being some serial killer or a creeper or anything weird he’s a successful lawyer in Boston who married his HS sweetheart and very polite and nice. I also was a professional nanny for 15 years and I’d say 6 is around the age I’ve noticed boys start to become curious about private parts.. I even had a boy fully pull down my pants and underwear .. and he’s like 12 now and a super normal kid excels at piano and has lots of friends. I believe his parents bought him a couple anatomy books for kids and took him to like the Bodies exhibit lol and he wasn’t so interested anymore. 😂

I’m not a mum (yet - due later this year) but I am a teacher of 7 year olds and you wouldn’t believe how common it is for them to be so fascinated with their private parts and others parts. We have regular conversations about not exposing ourselves in the toilet etc but what I found really useful is the book ‘Pantosaurus and the Power of Pants’ which is used by the NSPCC. It really engages the kids but also a really important message about how anything that is in our pants is private and shouldn’t be shown to others or touched by others!

Is his father in his life? If not get him a male role model that is unacceptable and he’s old enough to know that

It's really common at this age. Boys start getting very curious about bodies.

My nephew recently went through this phase. It's all about talking to them about what needs to be private and when. As Alison said earlier books can really help.

I remember a similar stage as a child too. I do remember it was all about the same age others did it as well. I'd say it's probably developmental but we need to ensure the kids understand the boundaries

My son did this in preschool when he was 3 or 4 with another little girl the same age during nap time. I think it's normal at some point when their young. I don't have any advice. But my son still remembers it to this day and he's 12 almost 13 now. I've also had an experience recently months ago tht involved a girl n a boy doing the same thing n they were 10 n 12 at the time. I think kids just get curious at different ages n wanna kno more so I think it's probably just important to make sure to talk to kids about tht stuff, my best thought is tht the more u talk about stuff the less/more curious they get. Sometimes talking about it can calm their curious minds n sometimes it can trigger more curiosity so do what u think is best at the time cuz they definitely don't come with a hand book...

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

Rapid cool/ hot shot method

Sorry if this sound stupid but how are we doing the hot shot method?
Are we boiling the kettle and letting it cool a little before adding to hot flask? Then with the cool water do you boil the kettle and leave it to cool right down before putting into another flask?
My baby brain is fried trying to work out the easiest way!

Rant/WWYD

My sister (youngest, 24) has two kids, 4 & 1, and i (oldest, 30) just have my one who’s 6mo old right now, so i ask her for advice or call her to vent about things sometimes. Well im tired of her turning around and telling my other family members that I’m “losing my sh*t.” Literally have not lost my sh*t nor have i ever freaked out to her about my baby, i just call her to talk and tell her what stage my baby is in or talk through how im feeling, but she chooses to tell people that im like a complete nutcase or something which worries me that my family is going to start being judgmental about me as a mother or looking at me funny like I’m some fragile ticking time bomb.

What would you do in this situation? I’m already pretty much decided that I’ll stop telling her anything about my struggles, but I’m almost at the point where i feel like it should be confronted because she, of all people, should understand what I’m going through.
