Does anyone else not have a birth plan? I’m 39 weeks and haven’t done one. In my first pregnancy I did my own very detailed plan (I did hypnobirthing) but this time I haven’t done a thing. I tried to fill out the options on Badger notes but it won’t let me.
I might not bother and just go with the flow! Anyone else? My midwife hasn’t even mentioned it.

I've not done it with my midwife yet but I've filled in a few things on badger. I'm quite like you though, just plan on going with the flow 😂 xx

I didn’t bother, just filled in the section on badger. I’m glad I didn’t do one and just went with how I felt at the time and looking back I wouldn’t have changed anything about my labour now ☺️ x

Nope! I don’t see the point in one ☺️

In my opinion I don’t think there’s any point in having one. For me (I get stressed and would usually overplan things), I know it would make me more stressed because it would never go exactly to plan. All I am saying is where I want to have my baby and that I’m probably going to want an epidural, and that’s it! It’s never been mentioned to me either x

I Don't have one

I don’t have one just winging it I’ve got a sweep booked for my due date if she’s not here by then so six days and then an induction booked for the 15th if the sweep fails 41 weeks 🤦🏽♀️

I haven’t done one either. Same as you - did one last time along with hypnobirthing and felt like lots of what I’d suggested on the plan was ignored 🙄 therefore, I don’t see the point this time. I also don’t know how to do it on Badger?? 🤷🏻♀️

@Shannon I've had my sweep done there tonight oh my days the cramps are wild

Not having one means it’s less likely you’ll understand the various things that may be asked of you in labour and after the birth. If you don’t know about them you may feel stressed and pushed to make decisions you don’t understand ie how to birth your placenta and why you may want managed or physiological, the potential impact of pethidine, the risks (and benefits) of sweeps and cervical exams (especially if your waters have gone). The NHS template is available online so you can go through or I’d happily run you through if baby hasn’t arrived as it’s something I offer from time to time as a Hypnobirthing teacher.
