18 weeks pregnant cervix 27mm

Hello, i am 18 weeks pregnant. I see the consultant on Wednesday due to previous LLETZ procedures. My cervix was measuring 27mm so he has put me progesterone and I am going back Wednesday for another scan. If it has got any smaller he said I will have the stitch that day but if not I will carry on with progesterone and be checked every week up until 24 weeks. Can anyone tell me what happens after 24 weeks? I know you’re not meant to have the stitch after this time is it less likely for your cervix to change at this point? Thank you x

Hi denise, can I check how you progressed? I’m a similar situation but haven’t been offered the stitch but wondering if I need to start on the progesterone (they haven’t suggested but finding I’m needing to advocate and ask for things)x

Hello, I was on progesterone until I was 37 weeks pregnant! Mine got shorter though so they tried to do the stitch but unfortunately it had got to small so ended up have an Arabin pessary which basically takes the pressure off of the cervix. I did get to full term with that! Have they said much to you xx

It’s been a bit difficult as I’ve had to literally ask for everything. I had a private scan which showed a short cervix 2.8 and then after loads of prompting they finally done a scan which confirmed 2.7 at 23 weeks.

They’ve not said anything yet but I worry that they are being a bit dismissive. So I’m having to ask for most things myself.

How did you find the arabin pessary? Can that be put at anytime? If I can get to 37 weeks I’d be soo happy, did they say whether the pessary helped push you along?xx

Sorry, yes it was fine. It was a little uncomfortable having it put in and out but nothing major.

Yes this can be put in at anytime. The doctor believe this got me full term xx

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
