I m convinced there's something wrong with me..

I have some sort of condition or mental illness but nor sure how to approach doctors about it....I m anxious all the time, can't sleep, struggle to be round people, have intrusive thoughts sometimes quite bad ones like that my daughter is in danger, lacking energy, ant social interaction is exuasting,if I need to sort something out I get obsessed with it and wide myself up about it and make a bigger issues then it is...quite happy to sit at home and do nothing and then I feel bad because I m not one of those mum who exercise and always look good....don't know but I feel like I have an issue.

There is not something wrong with you however you may just need some kind words and encouragement!
If your pregnant speak to your health visitor if not contact your doctor explain literally what you put here and they will sit and chat to you ask you a few questions regarding mental state encourage you to go out and do things even if it is for a walk and possibly refer you to some talking therapies ( which you can also refer yourself also) and they will try and help you🫶🏼
My advice would be get out the house do some small shopping or even window shopping just to get you out ask any friends family to meet you to go for a tea/coffee or something or if u have both have little ones take them to a group or soft play so you have an adult to be around also it will help so much!
The more busy you are hopefully that can help you to be more tired at night to sleep then you will have a little more energy etc i hope this helps🫶🏼

At Akasha how do you manage these symptoms?

I'm like this 🙂 I got diagnosed with ADD at 20 years old. Constantly anxious, OCD, paranoia, insane fatigue, introverted.

Ritalin helped me. I got to a good place with it, hugely thanks as well to a very understanding partner I met. When I moved I came off the ritalin and have been off it for 6 years. I feel like a big burden to my partner though (he says I'm not) so I am considering going back on it now that I have moved back again.

ADHD but without the hyperactivity. Attention Deficit Disorder. Basically having a billion things in my mind at all times, just spinning off into my own world. I don't have the "I can't sit still part" instead it's the opposite, I go into my own world and overthink everything. My brain takes in so much stimuli all the time that it just is always constantly processing something. Hence the constant anxiety and paranoia about any little issue. And the lack of ability to do anything as the brain is basically overloaded, which also leads to insane fatigue. I am currently sitting next to my daughter watching her sleep cause what if I look away and she stops breathing (there is nothing wrong with her but surely the one time I look away something bad will happen right?)

Hey momma it sounds like you may have PPD..the best way to help it is to be outside in the sun..I know it sounds dumb but “For me” being outside when I felt like this helped. If you have a backyard or patio, put baby in a safe place where you can see him/her and just stand outside for a minute and just breath. When you feel overwhelmed just take a step back and just take a deep breath. You’re NOT a bad mom for feeling this way your HUMAN and sometimes we struggle. It can be a lot, especially when you feel like you’re the one doing everything or you feel overwhelmed. Steps I follo: step away, breath, shower (sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves and something as simple as a shower can just help you feel better), when baby is asleep or napping take advantage of it and just sit or lay on the bed, set reminders, etc just remember to also take care of yourself.
Chin up, you CAN DO THIS. ❤️

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

I feel like just a milk cow

Hi I have a 16 day old via c section, I'm a FTM never having been around babies before as I am the youngest of my household and from a small family. My husband is fantastic with our little one. But ever since I've had the baby I just feel like the only thing I'm good for is producing milk. I feel disconnected from my husband like the only reason he's around is because am producing milk. We were having some issues before the baby and we're struggling it took a while to feel like he was onboard even though he said he was from the moment we found out. I dunno if I'm feeling like a spear part because I'm lacking confidence with baby or because I feel like he wouldn't mind being a single dad. Is this postpartum hormones or something else?

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.
