Im on maternity leave and my partner feels like he shouldn’t have to help with baby as much since he’s still working, for example I’m with baby all day and when he gets off he exercises right away for 45 minutes then he’ll cool off and shower and maybe play with baby for 5-10 minutes before handing him back to me…he doesn’t feed baby because he says it’s difficult and he doesn’t burp baby because he says he doesn’t know how…at night my baby wakes every 1.5-2 hours and instead of him helping feed baby or change baby when baby cries he tells me to hurry up and sometimes he’ll wake up and scroll on Facebook or watch videos until I’m done feeding and changing baby and putting him back to bed…then on days he’s off he’ll let me nap but if baby starts crying he’ll wake me up to feed him instead of doing it himself…he only works 32 hours a week and even on his days off he doesn’t help over night…what would you do?

Ask what kind of household he wants. This is a traditional household where the female takes care of these things. It’s definitely unequal and it allows the man to pretend to be helpless on household things. I don’t know what to do but figure out what type of relationship style you prefer

Exactly the same here! Tbh he doesn’t go out or anything like that but as soon as he gets in from work he’s straight in the gym 🙃
We’ve argued about it alot and I’ve just accepted he will never understand so I just get on with it as it will only upset me otherwise and I don’t want to waste time with my baby being miserable. My messages are open if you want to talk 🫶

Since you hv discussed with him and he doesn’t want to accept to help kindly ignore him and try take very good care of your baby and urself…

Similar situation here, and it’s made postpartum 10x worse for me. My partner won’t even sleep in the bedroom with us cause he says she will keep him up and I’m like I can leave the room, but even on the nights he doesn’t have to work the next day he doesn’t help. I had to take our daughter to therapy with me cause he didn’t want to watch her, he made excuses. My messages are open if you wanna talk. Just keep your head up and definitely talk to him, cause me and mine have been having the hard conversations lately and things have to change around here somewhat so I don’t lose my mind
