Hello ๐
At around 6 months I started BLW but my anxiety was through the roof with choking so went onto purees. Now my baby is 9 months I feel that I was ready to start introducing more finger foods again but she won't eat anything, other than toast ๐ข but will eat the puree I offer after she rejects everything else, has anyone else experienced this? Looking for some tips/success stories as I feel it's my fault she won't eat any now!

Could you slowly start blending the food less and less, so she gets used to little lumps in the food and having to chew those, then transitions slowly towards solid? x

Have you tried offering finger foods alongside purees of the same things? Possibly the same taste might tempt her more! Otherwise I'd just keep exposing her to the finger foods but treat it more as a sensory experience. Take the pressure off the actual eating of the food and focus on the exploring of it instead. We did BLW straight away and it took a good month for any significant amount to actually be eaten, its a massive learning curve (biting, chewing, swallowing, generally maneuvering lumps of food in their mouths), she'll get there!
To add, I don't know a single adult who only eats pureed food, you're doing great, take it slow โค๏ธ x

Offer a bit of both! My little girl didn't touch finger foods for a while and only wanted the puree. I think over time she's got used to it being offered and has now cracked picking things up / making a mess with her food and loves loves loves finger food! Means she's now also eating really well. Even with that said there are still days puree is her fave! Savoury cereals are her absolute number one! I just keep a stock of things in and go with the flow xxx

Thank you so much everyone, you've all be so helpful. I'll keep offering the finger foods alongside puree and hope that she will get there I appreciate you all taking the time to respond ๐

May sound silly, but maybe try offering them something yummy and sweet, my little one hated most of the veggies when they were purรฉe form but she loves most things now she has them in finger foods but she defiantly prefers sweet things. One thing that got mine onto finger foods were some bits from Ellaโs kitchen range. She loved the peach and banana sticks they were sweet and good for her. Also like one of the other comments said blend things less and less. My LO gagged a bit when trying them as she wasnโt used to it but now sheโs eating what I eat and I rarely blend anything anymore ๐
