My son has been in pt for a long time and started walking a couple weeks ago. But he is choosing to not walk at all he rather crawl. What else can I do to get him motivated to walk rather than crawl? I’m also 29 weeks pregnant and can’t really afford to carry him and a newborn.

put toys and stuff higher up like on a baby table or side table. keep everything at like eye level for him! It took my girl awhile to prefer walking over crawling too.

My husband got our son a Nerf ball a few weeks ago and he LOVES it! He wants to have it with him all the time and can't crawl with it so he is walking way more now! I think once he found a reason to enjoy walking he wanted to do it more and more 😁

When you go out just put him down and then tell him to follow you or motivate him to go with you. We had to do that with my first.

This might be a dumb suggestion 😂 but my daughter was pretty timid to start walking (finally walking consistently at about 15 months 🎉) but she still does have some hesitation. She is a lot more confident if I let her hold my hand 🤷♀️ there are definitely times she still wants to be carried, but automatically holding her hand has helped!

My boys are doing that I think they feel it’s faster since they’re still learning. We have been using their favorite things to encourage them to walk like toys or snacks
