I take it everyday, I've got asthma and the doctor recommended a daily antihistamine. I've been absolutely fine and I've mentioned it multiple times to drs and midwives and no one has told me otherwise 👍

An obstetrics doctor I spoke to recommended Piriton so I think it’s fine

I take loratadine every day. My gp advised it as the most safe in pregnancy x

I was on loratadine and could take multiple at the time of a bad episode until I became pregnant then I could only take the minimum dose of 1 tablet per day.
I was then encouraged by my immunologist consultant to swap from loratadine to chlorphenamine (or known as piriton) as a safer & more effective option (I can’t say it’s been more effective)

I switched to piriton in my first pregnancy as I was told it was the safest option, wasn't as good as my usual but, a lot better than nothing x

I was taking this for the first 17 weeks without realising it states not to take it on the boxes. After a frantic phonecall with my midwife, she assured me they’re absolutely fine (loratadine and cetirazine!) but you can always phone your midwife for peace of mind :)

I was told I can take them but try and take them only as and when needed and when you get into the third trimester try not to take any at all unless it’s really necessary

I’ve always taken an allergy tablet once a day due to having bad asthma and never had an issue with my last pregnancy or with this one xx

I would only take it if my symptoms were unbearable. However, I have pretty bad hay fever (I'm sneezing all the time anyway as I have a sensitive nose) and I have been taking allergy tablets for 10 years so I feel your pain x
Thank you all! I was doing decluttering and the dust caused my allergies to flare up. I didn’t take anything but I was in so much pain at night and found some Lotradine at home and took that.
I’ve now got the flu, and a sore throat so I guess I won’t be decluttering for a while
