We’re doing purees and just having 1 meal a day at the minute with some fruit at another point in the day. I tried BLW the other day, I cut it how it’s recommended and he choked which put the fear of god into me 😂 going to try again soon! X

BLW - just started giving some sticks of veggies at lunchtime.

2 meals, 4 bottles of milk and doing a mixture of purée and blw

this is the sort of schedule I’m trying to follow. My LO is on 5 bottles atm but I’m wondering whether to drop one as she has 2 meals a day (mainly purée) and eats all of everything offered!
When doing BLW does your little one eat it all? Or just explore? X

Avatar

honestly I feel you!! My little one is on purées and I try and do BLW but she doesn’t really enjoy it however we have moved up to 7 month+ food and also making our purées chunkier and she’s been fine although the occasional gag…inside I’m freaking out but I have to reassure her 🤣x

milk at 8am,12pm,5pm & 10pm. Meals at 10am & 2pm

Today he had Greek yoghurt, strawberries & banana puffs this morning.
And this afternoon he’s had avocado on toast with cheese & apple, pear & spring green purée
Was still hungry after that and is now having some tomato baby crisps😂😂

He eats everything!! Even his milk🐷

I’ve got a hungry baby too… she has weetabix with fruit mixed in for breakfast and she had casserole and a yoghurt for lunch 🤣 plus her milk throughout the day!!! 🤣dunno where they put it all!

Commenting for all the mums reading and worrying their babies aren’t picking weaning up quickly enough… I have an EBF baby who quite simply isn’t interested in food, no matter how/when it’s offered! The only time she’s interested is when she’s on our laps and tries to grab whatever we’re eating, otherwise in her highchair she couldn’t care less. 🤣🤣 I’m certain she’ll get there eventually, then these routines will be useful for us. 😄 xxx

Avatar

I agree! Some children just aren’t interested and every child is completely different! Xx

Avatar

definitely! My now 5 year old was the opposite. 🤣 I’m half tempted to let Sophie eat whilst sitting in one of our laps to start with as it’s the only time she really seems to show an interest. 😵‍💫 x

He has one proper meal of solids at lunchtime however we offer finger food etc with every meal we have as I want him to learn to eat with us and get used to different flavors and textures (although most of his finger food ends up on the floor 😂)

Avatar

finger foods are fed to the dogs in this house apparently 🙄🤣

Avatar

same here! My dog has found her new favorite spot under the highchair since we started weaning 😂

Avatar

Mine is six and a half and we are on one meal a days

My little man has 2 most days atm.. he has a morning bottle then some toast… he has the odd snack during the day (banana weaning wands, cucumber sticks, fruit) then he has an evening meal with the rest of us (tonight he had chicken and mashed potato, with some cucumber sticks and banana puree) I put a tiny bit of gravy on his chicken and mash but he’s reacted to it (we were trialling soya 🤦🏼‍♀️)
He also has between 5-8 bottles a day (ranging between 5-7oz) xx

My Lo is on 3 meals a day but we started weaning at 17 weeks so that’s the only reason he’s now on 3 meals we do mostly blw x

5 month old activities

Hey everyone my baby is 5 months old and I want to reduce/cut screen time as I have read up on how bad it is what activities did people do to keep their baby entertained. Thank you in advance.

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?
