I went to a wedding yesterday and wore a dress which would allow me access to easily breastfeed but it meant going bra-less and I didn't realise how much this would irritate my nipples. Throughout the day they got worse until by the evening the pain when feeding was almost unbearable. This morning when we tried feeding again, my nipples got little red dots on them. I stopped feeding and instead have expressed for every feed and given her the milk I get via a bottle. It was the best solution I could think of to give my breast a rest without hopefully reducing my supply by too much.
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar, if you have any tips for what I should do going forwards, or whether this is bad enough for me to be calling my health visitor.
I'm already using nipple balm and leaving some expressed milk on my nipple to try and ease the pain. I hope by the morning I might feel able to breastfeed normally again.

Other than what you're doing I would think the only other thing to help would be to use a silicone breast milk collection shell just for the sake of not having anything touching your nipples
