Smoked salmon on a hot meal - safe?

Hey, I know cold smoked salmon isn’t safe during pregnancy, but I’m going out for a meal tonight and I know there’s a dish where it usually comes on top of a creamy pasta. Usually the heat from the dish kind of cooks the smoked salmon but just wondering if this would be safe or if I shouldn’t risk it?

On the nhs website it says it needs to cooked until steaming hot. You might be able to ask the restaurant if they would mind heating it through for you. I’ve found lots of places are pretty accommodating when you’re pregnant.

What Elle says... it won't reach the correct internal temperature without being heated properly

I know this is controversial but a few years ago smoked salmon was safe as long as it was farmed from UK shores and previously frozen to kill parasites, Controversial, I’ve eaten it in both my pregnancies and been fine. It depends on how you feel so follow what sits right with you x

@Charlotte yes! I was pregnant with my daughter in 2021 before the guidance changed and ate it throughout! So I’m doing the same this time x
