startle reflex help!!!
I have been trying to switch my baby to sleep sacks the last two weeks as he’s showing signs of rolling. The first part of the night goes great, but when he wakes up for his first feeding I cannot get him back down in it without him throwing his arms in the air and up. I feel like i’ve tried everything; holding his arms in place and still like a minute into him laying down he’ll get startled, comfort, feet, butt, then back and head. idk what to do. i try for like 45 minutes and keep getting him to fall back asleep to then startle when set in the crib and give up and swaddle. I know the reflex is what’s keeping him up but I know weighted sleep sacks aren’t good nor most “transitional” sleep sacks once they show signs of rolling. helpppp please 😭

following for tips because we are also at a loss. He will utterly not sleep unless hes swaddled 🥲
Following! My LO so badly wants access to her hands but the startle reflex wakes her up whenever her arms are out of the swaddle 😭 not rolling yet
Also same situation here but my thing is.. when she’s swaddled she can definitely not roll at all and most of my other swaddles say “stop swaddling when baby can roll from back to stomach” which mine is nowhere near.
Since he has started rolling I would recommend when you out him in the crib to not lay him on his back. Lay him down on his side. Babies sometimes live to sleep on their tummy. My son hates being on his back. Batting in the tummy they won’t frighten themselves. So you can lay him down on his hands and hold the hands then set the legs in a way that he can stay on his side or roll him over to his back off you wish
I do that once my boyfriend gets out of bed 🤣
To avoid the startle reflex lay them down on their side and then you can roll them to their back if you want.
