Can someone please advise me on breastfeeding? I wanted to share the feeding role with my partner, so me breastfeeding and him using bottles but have been advised if you’re breastfeeding, breastfeed only… do I still need to pump or how does it work?👀🥰 will be 27 weeks on Sunday x

You can feed absolutely any way you want. They advise not to pump until 6 weeks to establish your supply. I didn’t really listen to that. They also say no dummies or bottles during this time to eliminate nipple confusion - again I didn’t listen lol. I would pump or tbh at the start all I used was a Hakka as I had tons coming in. I would just bag it and fridge or freeze it till needed. My partner would do bottles sometimes. I’d suggest not doing the bottles with you there as baby will just smell you and want breast. If you don’t give baby bottles you won’t need to pump. Still handy to have a pump or Hakka incase you get too engorged xx

I breastfed and pumped once a day and liked that my fiancé could take a turn feeding baby 🥰 plus ended up able to build a little freezer stash through pumping

You can also start collecting colostrum before baby is here if you’re leaking. Ask your midwife for some colostrum syringes. I’m not sure if you can bring it on if not already leaking. I started leaking at 16 weeks. Double check with your midwife when is safe to do this though it’s in the 30s xx

Just to add another perspective - I breastfed - but knew I wanted my partner to be involved so tried pumping from about 4 weeks. Didn’t like it. So we introduced one bottle of formula for his bedtime feed and that worked great for us. Also helped with the transition away from BF’ing later on 🙂 x

Amazing, thank you ladies 🤍🥰xx
