My little one is 5months old and is still only having 6oz bottles (sometimes he will only take 5oz and will take a full hour to have it all) since it’s been hot he’s got worse he’s had 4 feeds today in total starting from 10:30am up until 9pm I have tried to dream feed what should have been his 5th bottle but he wasn’t having none of it and ran out of time on it so it was no good and had to be thrown away… I’m worried he’s not having what he should be for his age as I know a lot of babies his age will be having 7oz or more every single feed… I dread feeding time when I used to love it because it’s just a fight to get him to have his milk.
he was born at 36weeks and weighed 5ibs 12oz he needed a feeding tube for 4weeks in neonatal because he just wasn’t interested.
I have tried astons teething crystals and calpol incase it’s teething I have sat and winded him for 30+mins incase it’s wind but nothing seems to help he just doesn’t want it and cries then as soon as the bottle has to be thrown and I stop trying to feed him he’s happy as ever giggling, playing and babbling away… I will be making a doctors app Monday but I just wondered how much everyone’s else’s littles ones are having and if anyone else has experienced anything like this… google isn’t any help and I’m just a worried first time mum x

My LO is 5 months and is still on 5oz bottles (breastmilk).. he's never gone past this and will only top up at bedtime, where he may have 2 bottles instead of 1. Often he will only drink 60/70ml and then finish the rest an hour later also. Every baby is so different and I just think some are hungrier than others. As long as he is putting on weight and not showing signs of dehydration, it may just be that's all he needs? But definitely see the GP if you're worried

My girl was like this and I used to worry so much because everywhere you read online or on the formula boxes it said she should be having way more than she was. I used to always offer her more and she would refuse and it always felt like a fight. Eventually I figured she just wasn’t as hungry as other babies and stopped trying to make her have more and she fed so much better. She’s always stayed on her growth line so I stopped worrying, she’s just a smaller baby but perfectly healthy and that’s fine :) As long as he’s putting on weight and has plenty of wet nappies he’s absolutely fine! For babies under 6 months you can offer cooled boiled water if you’re worried about keeping him hydrated in the heat xx

My baby only has 4oz per a bottle she still wakes up at night for milk and has a dream feed, all babies are different as long as they r having wet nappies and growing well they r having enough x
