Would anyone feel comfortable sharing how much they’re going to be paying roughly for nursery when their little ones start? I have absolutely no idea how you even enroll into nursery and feeling very much overwhelmed with it all😅

£298 a month for 2 days a week, including the 15 hours free.
We just started by enquiring around for any that had space (out of 14, 4 had spaces) then we went to have a look around, then chose our favourite so asked for Enrollment form. It was £150 non refundable registration fee 🤯
oh god🤣 does everyone get 15 hours free?x

I think it's working parents who's child is over 9 months or something? Xx

Our little girl will be going 3.5 days a week from January, so we will be paying roughly £233 a week until April where it will go down to £170 a week as that is when we will be eligible for the 15 free hours. This isn't including the tax-free money you can claim.
Also, you're eligible for the 15 yours free the term after your baby turns 9 months old, so for April babies, they're not eligible until April 2025. You have to earn more than £167 a week to be eligible for them.

I would start looking into it as one of the ones near me aren’t taking people til January 2026! We booked our place whilst I was about 5/6 months pregnant to start a year and 3 months after then. The place we have booked a day is 10 hours and is about £70 for a day. Some differ but some you have to pay extra for food or nappies and wipes or some you supply your own so I would have a look at the ones near you. X

We've had to look at a childminder instead as we simply cannot afford nursery. We're probably looking at around 28 hours of childcare a week.
The funded childcare is 15 hours term time only until September 2025 so we are going to have to stretch it to cover every week. This works out as 11 hours a week so 17 hours we will have to pay for. This is £85 a week.
From September 2025 we will be entitled to 30 hours a week term time childcare (22 hours stretched) so will only have to pay for about 6 hours a week. This works out as around £30 a week so our child benefit will pretty much cover childcare from September 2025 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

In Oxfordshire we pay £73 per day for our oldest and the little ones nursery from Jul 2025 will be £80 (when we viewed it was £75 but they just increased their prices). Then of course the free hours get deducted.

Ours will be £78 a day for the non funded days on our funded day due to the 15hours free from April 25 we just pay £8 consumables charge. He'll be going 3 days a week to start with so £166 a week but hoping to increase to 4 days a week from September when we should get 30 hours free, in the mean time family are helping us 1 day a week

£1500pm full time (about £75per day) (all inclusive, so includes all food, nappies, wipes, sun cream etc)

I pay £1600 a month for my 2 year old and my new baby will the same from Feb. That’s full time hours. Depending on your circumstances you may be entitled to funding support; the gov website will tell you if your eligible x

£100 deposit to secure his place. £72 per day (10 hours) or £48 per half day (5 hours). We will get gov tax free childcare (20% off) and 11.6 free hours per week (15 hours if calculated at term time only) from April 25.

One I went and looked at was £696 for 2 days a week - so 8 days a month 🥹

do march babies get it from January? My boy will be just shy of 10 months when he starts nursery in January so does that mean he will qualify for the free hours?

@Demi yes. If they where born on or before the 31st March 2024 then they will be eligible for 15 hours from January 2025.
If you go onto the childcare choices website you can put in your child's details and it will let you know what your entitled to and from when.
Thanks so much everyone🫶🏻 think it’ll be cheaper for me to just stay at home🤣😅x

£60 a day - term time only nursery booked to start in January for 3 days a week. Will then drop down with the 15 free hours for working parents to paying for 1 and a half days a week plus a top up of £30 a month. Tax free childcare will also reduce the cost by 20%.
So it will be £720 a month but will only pay £576 a month due to tax free childcare until April. From April to September it will be £390 a month but I’ll pay £312 with tax free childcare.
Fortunately my older daughter will get 30 hours free for 3 year olds from January so I will only have to pay a £60 monthly top up for her.
The other two days their dad will have them.

@Amy omg that's sooooo cheap! I didn't think we got any free hours until they were two? I'm in Scotland so maybe it's different. The nursery our little one is going to is £80 per day! 🥴

@Amanda the 15 hours from 9 months is new funding that I think has literally only just come in! Ours is £60 a day I think, but we have to provide all nappies / wipes etc! It's crazy how expensive they all are😬
