I just need to vent.
My in laws don't speak English well, my FIL is more easy to talk to than my MIL so I show her repetitively when my son needs something (nap, food etc)
Today she annoyed me especially because he already missed one nap today, around 4pm and I was putting him down around 530 to 6pm. She checked on me and said my son wasn't sleepy and took him from the bed while I lay there with him, not once but twice!
I told her with actions he's rubbing his eyes so he's sleepy....hubby came home after buying his formula as he's doing an overnight here (so they can get used to caring for him)
After what she did, my hubby had to talk to her about how to care for his sleep. I'm pretty annoyed rn as I've shown her my son's cues and continued to disregard me today....
Thanks if you got this far. Usually I'm good with my in laws but if they overstep the work I've/we've done for my son, I'm not about it and wanting to suffer for their lack of acknowledgement

Sounds incredibly frustrating, sounds like you're doing great in advocating for your son and I hope she starts learning it's about his needs that matter the most 🙏

It must be so difficult it’s hard when people don’t understand your babies routine and it’s annoying to explain, but sounds like you’re doing great and your partner is great for being on your side and explaining to his mum! Hopefully she’ll understand now x

@Mimi thanks for reading 🙏🏻 and I felt I was doing well as hubby and I established a schedule since he was born. Now that his naps are shorter, it's Def needed for him to get those naps in during the day so he can sleep better at night

@Chloe thank you! I'll see how she treats me tmw. I told hubby if she disregards me again, our son isn't sleeping over there for a very long time. My parents helped raise my nephew so I trust they know cues since they've been Refreshed with baby caring the past 2 years

I understand your frustration! Sleep is so important. Hopefully your inlaws understand that you have to trust them to leave your child with them and ignoring you does not build trust.
Also your baby is so cute!

@Karen yes sleep is so important esp when we worked so hard making his schedule! The other night he was crying for 10 mins straight at their house as he missed a nap and we were on the way to get him at night and he fell asleep when my FIL called.
I'll see how my MIL is today as she's usually the one caring for him
And thanks so much! He's full of outgoing persona like his mama 🤗

Yes I find the night is such a disaster if my little one misses a nap
