Need advice

I'm tired of sleeping in the nursery on the twin bed while trying to get my 8mo to sleep in the crib. I tried everything from crying it out she falls asleep then pops up. I have pumped and gave her a bottle in the crib she just drinks it look at me and then cries to get out and soon as I get her out she cuddles up to me a sleeps I put her in the crib she pops up. I got so frustrated I wanted to stop breastfeeding because I thought it was the reason for her not wanting to go to sleep by herself but I still continued. I just going crazy some days and floating on auto pilot all day.

Does she nap in the crib during the day?

It’s pretty normal for babies and toddlers to not want to sleep by themselves. We are social sleepers, and many adults don’t like to sleep alone. If you want your baby/toddler to sleep alone, you have to go through some pain points that are unpleasant for both you and your little one.

I opted in for bedsharing and never even used a crib. She is almost 2 years old, and honestly it’s my favorite thing. I love to wake up next to her in the morning and see her smiling sleeping face. Every moment of it brings me so much joy. It’s hard when they are under 1, but easier than the crib.

yes sometimes that's after she has cried it out.

yes does make lots of memories because I have a 9yr and seeing him branch off independently can be sad some days. That's what I did with him until he was 3yr but it got in the way sometimes with my husband and I have quality time in bed together. So this time around I wanted to make sure we are able to have that time together but some nights it is easier so I can get a little zzzzzz

It’s developmental normal for babies/toddlers to feel safest sleeping near their parents. We bedshare for that reason. Made our lives 💯 easy. We follow the safe sleep 7. She’s 18mo and naps independently and sleeps independently when we put her to bed ~7:30 then we crawl jn bed with her around 10:30/11.

If you are not unconrortable cosleeping. It maked life much easier. What I did since day one was ataching the crib to our bed (only three sides). That way we have the bed and the baby her crib but we are together

I had also planned on letting my son cry it out etc and ended up just co sleeping with him and at 17 months he was ready to sleep on his own whimpers for less than 5 minutes and goes to bed on his own before that the crying out that I tried around 7-8 months was a minimum of 30’minutes up to 2 hours and I read that some babies stop crying just bc they are so tired not comforted… of course you have to do what works for you just sharing my story 😊

Oh yeah. It's scientifically proven than the cry it out increases thir cortisol levels ( stress hormone) and they only stop crying because they are tired and after a few days because they know that no one will come t confort them. Once I knew this, CIO became a huge no for me and my family.

You could try moving the crib into your room for awhile so baby is near you but in their own bed then do naps in a packnplay in the nursery so they are use to sleeping in there at times when you won't be sleeping with them. You might also consider looking at the book thr no cry sleep solution. For a less painful way to encourage better sleep

My daughter hated the crib. She stopped sleeping in it after 5 months lol. I would try a floor bed. Full or queen if you’re able to. If not, twin on the floor and roll away after she’s been asleep for 15-20 mins. Just baby proof the room lol

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!

Rapid cool/ hot shot method

Sorry if this sound stupid but how are we doing the hot shot method?
Are we boiling the kettle and letting it cool a little before adding to hot flask? Then with the cool water do you boil the kettle and leave it to cool right down before putting into another flask?
My baby brain is fried trying to work out the easiest way!

Rant/WWYD

My sister (youngest, 24) has two kids, 4 & 1, and i (oldest, 30) just have my one who’s 6mo old right now, so i ask her for advice or call her to vent about things sometimes. Well im tired of her turning around and telling my other family members that I’m “losing my sh*t.” Literally have not lost my sh*t nor have i ever freaked out to her about my baby, i just call her to talk and tell her what stage my baby is in or talk through how im feeling, but she chooses to tell people that im like a complete nutcase or something which worries me that my family is going to start being judgmental about me as a mother or looking at me funny like I’m some fragile ticking time bomb.

What would you do in this situation? I’m already pretty much decided that I’ll stop telling her anything about my struggles, but I’m almost at the point where i feel like it should be confronted because she, of all people, should understand what I’m going through.
