Really trying to give the whole BLW thing a go as didn’t get anywhere with purées but my LG keeps taking massive bites, gagging/choking and then being sick!!! It’s really traumatic for all involved. How do I stop the big bites?? I’ve watched all the things and I’m definitely preparing the food correctly.

You just have to wait it out and stay calm honestly, they learn so quickly how to move food forward, my baby would take a bit bite of toast them gag and vomit and within 3 days I would say she got it and hasnt done it since- if they break off a piece just remove from the tray or their hand but if its in their mouth and they are coughing etc we just smile and say good girl you know what to do and stay calm and it always comes out really soon

"Loud and red, let them go ahead. Silent and blue they need help from you".
Big difference between gagging and choking. Gagging is absolutely fine and is just their way of learning to move food round their mouth.
Never make a big deal over them gagging.
What you have explained is really normal and all part of the process and learning.
I know it's scary but keep going x

mine is the same..it’s usually just me and him during the day when feeding him and i’m trying to encourage him and to stay calm..french toast yesterday..first bite..vomited..and within 2 seconds picked another one and start again 😅 they have to learn somehow..be patient and calm..try to smile..😊 good luck mama
so this is where I struggle. When this happens she is red but she is silent. Then she eventually vomits. So I don’t really know what’s happened to be honest.
been going on much longer than three days unfortunately.
I’m really struggling with the smile and stay calm part. Honestly makes me want to cry most days. Not in front of the baby obviously.

Red is fine ! Honestly, she'll get the hang of it. It just takes a little time. Keep going, you're doing really well x
