Prepping for baby

Hey I would say anytime from now, my first baby came unexpectedly at 38 weeks so was nice to not feel completely unprepared!

I had it all sorted from 32 weeks but I like to be over prepared

i’ve had everything washed and put away since about 28 weeks. put the next to me up about 2 week ago and installed the car seat last week. i wanted everything done in advance so i don’t have to think about it now

I did most stuff weeks ago... We've not put a cot up or put the car seat in yet, but all clothes washed and put away, hospital bags all packed etc though x

I did baby’s clothes at 30 weeks as I don’t have the energy now, putting the next to me up this week (35 weeks) and I have my hospital bag packed ready x

I’d be careful about the car seat anyway because if your car is in any kind of bump or crash you’d need a new one.

I have the washing done and put away but not set the cot and stuff up yet because like you it would just be extra clutter in my already small house. I’ll leave it later and if things go wrong my husband can always put the last bits up before we get home, it won’t take him long.

Get use to clutter.. it’s here to stay with a baby

I’m getting ready for 36 weeks (finishing everything this week) as she can be born at this time and I can technically take her home (lungs should be developed by 36 weeks so unless something else is not up to speed like body temperature regulation, but it should be fine more or less)

I’d say be ready by 38 weeks so however long it will take to achieve that

When baby arrives you will totally understand my comment. And when he/she is 6 months old even more so. Out the window goes clean freak and any thought of living a clutter free existance. With a child comes more paraphernalia than you could ever imagine.

We have an 18 month old toddler at home already and don’t feel like having the extra stuff out already is helpful. I don’t have much clutter out in the house for our kiddo, she has lots of toys and stuff, but it al gets put back away when she finishes with it. It’s definitely possible to stay tidy with a baby!

My husband is going to practice fitting the car seat this weekend, so he knows what to do when the time comes, but won't fit it permanently until baby is here and can go home as we don't want to have to replace it if anything happens to the car.
