I’m just really tired and don’t know who to talk to; my baby is 4 months old and wakes up every hour from 7PM onwards to feed. He’s never been a great sleeper from the beginning but used to get atleast a 2 hour stretch before. But now he’s up every single hour and cries and is inconsolable and won’t go back to bed unless I feed him to sleep. I’m absolutely exhausted and would be open to any advice to help me through this. I’ve tried co sleeping but it doesn’t seem to make a difference he is still up just as frequently and also I just don’t enjoy co sleeping I feel like I can’t properly relax in my bed. Please help out a very tired mummy with any suggestions xx

Have you brought this up during doctor visits?

Do you have a next to me bed maybe try a night light singing some songs like twinkle twinkle little start some babies love the feeling of soft blankets even a nice soft housecoat 4 month is still early for your baby and I know how it feels to be constantly up 😌

He may be cluster feeding. Is he breastfed?
I haven’t actually seen a doctor since his 8week check up - I’ve had him weighed regularly and the health visitors have said everything’s fine as his weight is going up as it should be
that’s reassuring to hear thank you!!🫶🏽🫶🏽
yes he’s exclusively breastfed - he took bottle at the start and I was combi feeding but at around 10 weeks he started to completely refuse the bottle so now he’s exclusively breastfed
yes he sleeps in his snuzpod right next to me - I can deffo try the nightlight and songs thank you!xx

If this continues, might be worth seeing if your area/borough have an infant feeding cafe that you can pop into? Really helpful just to chat with the midwifes for advice/ideas etc

It could be a regression/growth spurt/leap.
They can last a couple of weeks

Its the 4 month sleep regression and its normal. Had it with my son and my daughter is 4 months in less than a week and she just woke up 50 mins after being put down so I am really hoping that’s not it starting. 😭 My son had started sleeping properly again after we sleep trained at 6.5 months. Will try sleep training my daughter earlier than that but 4 months is on the early side. Speak to a sleep consultant.

No problem 🥰

How long does the hourly waking last?😭 I thought we entered sleep regression about 4 weeks ago when suddenly started waking 4/6 times but the last 3 nights it’s gotten worse and now having about 9 wake ups every hour!! 🫠😮
