Neuropsychology

I want to finish my schooling to become a neuropsychologist. I’m unclear what classes for bachelors and then which schools would be my best options. I have a high interest in this topic so I want to take classes that keep my interest in the topic as well as stay away from math 😂
Any advice?

For bachelors classes you’d wanna stick in psychology, biology or a related field! Math is typically somewhat involved when looking at practical sciences but it shouldn’t be the wooooorst if you stick in field related to psychology instead of leaning towards a physical science

Typically, you need a doctorate in psychology with a focus on neuropsychology. I'd encourage you to look at those graduate school programs and see the pre-req classes they ask. That way you'll know what to take so you can be competitive for application. Shoot me a private message if you have additional questions

yes 100% on the doctoral. I was looking into NIU and they said that a bachelors in science or arts would be fine to get into their program. I just feel like arts is so generic and science I saw the math involved and I was like 👀👀😩 lol

I’m getting my doctorate in clinical psychology with a focus in neuropsychology right now! I went to Arizona State University where they offer a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. I would totally recommend it! They offer it online too.

I was looking at that school too, good to know! Where are you getting your doctorate? ASU is about $4,000 more per year than the school more local to me but I feel like they have more flexibility on online classes whereas my local school offers only some online to my understanding.

Hi! I just graduated from George Mason University (Fairfax,VA) with a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience! They also offer a Neuroscience B.S. as well!

You can major in Psychology and choose a concentration if you’d like or you can just got for the Neuropsychology degree in Bachelors!

Either way, I had to take a lot of math( lots of statistics and advanced math), basic English, some electives, mostly lots of neuroscience courses (sensation, perception, and processing.), biopsychology, clinical psychology, developmental psychology, etc

Ughhh

I am so overwhelmed!! My baby isn’t sleeping and I’ve got a raging headache and all this legal stuff is making me feel irritated and I just want to cry.

I really hate to come out here and tell my business about what’s going on with my life in my kids, but I had no choice

I just came back from a parent teachers conference meeting and they telling me that my second daughter, who just turned eight about a week ago that she barely know how to read and she has speech problems… I already feel like shit because it’s not that I’m doing my job. It’s because I worked a lot, and and every time, me and my first oldest daughter, trying to teach you how to read, she gets insecure and thinking that we making fun of her, but we’re not!! I felt like a shitty mother I don’t know what to do.

First Day/Night Out without Baby

So I’m due to go on a hen party next weekend just for the afternoon/night and I’m soo nervous to leave baby girl. She will be with her dad (my husband) and I know he’s more than capable but I’m so nervous to leave her. He struggles sometimes with bed time as baby girl really likes to fight her sleep so I end up doing bedtime 9 times out of 10. And I’m worried he will just let her “cry it out” for a while before he goes to pick her up and settle her. I really want to go out and have a good time. But I’m just nervous about going out anyway in general because I’m still not 100% loving my new mum body. But mostly I’m nervous about leaving baby as it will be the longest we’ve been apart 🙈

Nursery

What's people's thoughts on nursery? Is it better to choose somewhere closer to where you live or better to choose somewhere in the middle for different people that may be picking baby up? We've just started looking and just don't know which is better

Correcting eating with hands?

My 1yo eats with utensils perfectly fine, my 3yo is capable of doing it too but doesn't like to and prefers to use her hands. I don't know how to correct this at home without it sounding lowkey like nonsense. We have finger foods, other cultures eat "messy" foods with their hands, we teach to eat until your tummy feels comfortable so idk how to explain that even tho eating with her hands is the most comfortable that she isn't supposed to?? Because even as an adult I don't see a problem with it unless it'd be disrespectful to the chef/host 😅 Do I just say we need to practice at home just in case a future chef/host would be offended by it? 😭

Am I overthinking this ?

Am I wrong for feeling some kind of way from my husband wanting to put my 2 yo daughter in daycare he always brings it up. But mind you I’m a stay at home mom. And my daughter does learn now she’s not getting no 3-4hr learning session but the thing is she knows all her alphabets, she knows her numbers from 1-20, and she knows a good amount of animals, and she even knows a few sign language that she caught on from Mrs. Rachelle at 1 yo ! She’s very smart and picks up on alot of words pretty fast. But knowing my daughter she doesn’t have a long attention span so I do what I know how she’ll learn best, she learn through music, we watch videos, and I physically show her and question her. But sometimes I feel offended when he brings up she should be in daycare around other kids learning as if I’m not with her everyday .
