I need some advice I feel like I am out my depth with getting my little boy to sleep in his own cot in his own room

Anytime I lay him down he wakes up screaming so loud - but I feel like I’ve failed as a mum as it’s my fault because he has always been in our bed until he falls asleep but now it’s like he knows when I move him into his room .. he won’t stay in it wakes up screams and doesn’t stop - I’ve even tried laying down in his cot with him and he still cries and then I take him into my bed he goes straight back to sleep 😭😭 so I’m basically co sleeping just so we can both get a sleep at night ( he’s 18 months ) x please if there is any tips I am willing to try as I feel like she should be use to his cot … but obviously not 😢 I’m thinking to myself will he ever sleep in his own room / bed / cot … 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Little bit different here as my LO slept through in his cot for months, but from July he started waking at around 1am and just screamed until he was in our bed and refused to go back in his cot, so we had this exact dilemma as we ended up co sleeping and him ending up in with us earlier and earlier.

We basically decided to make the leap and move him to a floor bed, we’ve just done night 3 and he slept through in there the whole night on his own last night 🤯 (the first 2 nights we stayed on his cot mattress on the floor next to him so whenever he woke he could see us) and then last night he woke at 1am, had a little moan and look around, then straight back to sleep till 6.30! I don’t know whether he’d just had enough of his cot as even his single floor bed has a lot more space than his cot, but it’s definitely been a success for us x

I second the floor bed. My little girl woke up the second I put her in her cot, but this way I can feed her to sleep/cuddle to sleep and put her down and then roll away.

You haven’t failed as a mum at all, he just feels safe being next to his mumma & if that means you all get some sleep, then so be it ♥️ My 3 year old only stopped co-sleeping a few weeks ago, I thought he would be in my bed forever at one point because he would just refuse his own but but we very recently just switched up his bedroom, bought him a new “big boy bed” and took him to the shops to pick out some cushions and a blanket for his new bed, I didn’t hold out much hope but I put him to bed that night and he’s slept in his own bed every night since! There was no magic trick, he was just simply ready this time!
Don’t feel like you should have to do anything, the only pressure or expectation is the one you put on yourself. If you co sleep safely and it doesn’t bother you or your sleep then why change it. He will eventually sleep in his own bed, no doubt about it x

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!
