How do your little ones go to sleep?

Hope this is ok to post!

My little girl is 6 weeks today. She seems to only fall asleep in our arms. Some nights she’ll have her night feed, fall asleep after winding and then sleep until 4/5 in her Moses basket wake for a feed and then back in her Moses basket until 7-ish.

Lately she’s been really struggling, she’ll go until 4/5 in her bed but then want to be either held or laid on my bed and then she’ll sleep through until the morning.

She had a bit of constipation and a cold so we were holding her quite a bit because she was upset but it feels like we’re delayed and everyone’s saying how she should be sleeping in her bed during her day time naps and throughout the whole night etc. I’m at a loss at the moment honestly, feel like I’m failing at parenting😣

My girl is 8 weeks and for the last week has only done contact naps during the day, she’ll be awake with in 15 mins if she’s put in Moses, and at night she’s falling asleep in our arms before being transferred into Moses, but is mostly managing to stay asleep.

They are going through a leap 6-8 weeks so I’m just enjoying doing absolutely nothing all day and watching her sleep.

You are not failing at parenting at all ... you do whatever works best for you and your little girl

My boy generally naps on me to start with during the day (after a bottle) but I transfer him to his crib after about 20 minutes when I know he's asleep. Other days he sleeps on me during the day - it's just whatever works. He will also fall asleep on us after a bottle at night and then we do the same and transfer him after about 20 minutes and then he'll stay in there for the night.

She might be going through a growth spurt, they are a little more fussy around those times but they don't last 🙃

Our boy is 6 weeks and is falling asleep on us atm. During the day it’s 50/50 if he will go into the Moses basket to finish his nap. At night time he has bath, bottle, snuggle and then usually goes down in his bed once he’s dropped off in our arms.
He doesn’t seem to settle very well if we put him down whilst he’s still awake

Omg don’t listen to people! You’re in the 4th trimester, it’s so normal for them to want to be close. Mine is sleeping on me all day and only sleeps on me or in a sling on me. At most he’ll sleep for 5 mins away from me, enough time to go to the toilet, even if swaddled. It’s so normal. This period flies by so try to embrace them wanting to be close and hold them 😘

Have you tried a sling? Babies sleep so well in them! And you have your hands free to do some stuff or go for a walk

Should I be concerned or am I overthinking?

My little boy is 15 months old, he’s recently taken his first steps and he says mamma and dadda and baba (he has said these for months) we’ve filled out the paperwork for his 12-14 month review and it looks like he isn’t meeting many of his milestones.

He doesn’t copy actions, point, clap etc. He doesn’t react when being spoken to, or to his name. He actively avoids eye contact.

He was so unresponsive to sound that we just had his hearing tested concerned he was deaf. They found that he could hear so he is just choosing not to react to any noises or sounds.

Has anyone else had similar experiences with their little ones? Should I be raising this with the health visitor and ask to be assessed for neurodivergent issue or a social communication problem like autism?

I don’t want to just slap a label on him, but I do feel that there are real concerns. All opinions welcome!!

Routines?

When did you start to introduce your baby’s routine? Do they just have a night routine or full day routine? Wondering when I should start this e.g naps at the same time everyday.

Any routines you have that work for you, please let me know them with timestamps. my baby is 6 weeks and just wondering when we should start them?

Does anyone else’s baby spit up breastmilk but not formula?

I’m seriously considering seeing a lactation consultant because I don’t understand why he can’t hold down breastmilk but can formula. I use soy formula since I’ve used it with my daughter and I’m thinking it might be due to not getting milk coming in for a few days so I had no choice but to give him formula, but now even if I take breaks in between feeding him breastmilk to burp or try to mix breastmilk and formula, he spits it up sooo much. I’m ready to just give him just formula because I’m worried about him not eating enough

Bed time tips for 8 week old

So I literally cannot get my 8 week down to sleep before 11:30pm every night no matter how early we start our routine. We tend to do bath every second night but every night consists of feed, up to bed, into pjs, book, feed to sleep. We could start this routine at 7 and it would still be the case of not selling til 11:30.

She doesn’t nap during the day well, we get a 30 minute in the morning, and a 1 hour in the afternoon only if I’m out the house. She’s never distressed when she’s awake all that time, quite the thing being nosey and having cuddles. She’s EBF and her feeds all through the day are LONG and last from 30-45 mins each feed.

Any tips/advice recommended on how to get to bed earlier or just how to get her to sleep in general.
