My child has been cast for some modelling, she is 4 and just started school. She’s modelled for this company before. This time I’ve been asked to get authorisation from the head teacher in the form of a letter so that it can be approved by the local council. I know the head teacher won’t authorise this absence, does this mean the council will also refuse for her to do the work? Legally children don’t have to start school until they are 5 so I am happy for her to take the day off unauthorised but not sure how this works with the council then refusing. Does anyone have experience in this?

As a mum with 3 models -2 in school , the school wasn’t happy with absence and authorised consent , but the council still gave the license .
What company are you with ? , I’m with London kids . X

I think it depends on your council, mine will not issue the license unless the school has authorised the absence. I think as she has just started school it’s a good idea to set up a meeting with them to discuss it all so all on the same page going forward.
they authorised the absence? Or unauthorised it?
She’s not with an agency, it’s for the company I work for.
