Hi ladies, sadly I had to have a d&c on 1st August, all went ok, I bled very lightly for around 2 weeks after, they got a big period 3 weeks after that… and I’m still bleeding, is this normal to still, as of today I have been lightly bleeding from this period for over 2 weeks, is this normal for first period after a d and c or should I contact the docs… we are still TTc but so hard to know what my body’s doing.

Understand how frustrating this is, I'm sorry you're having to go through this. My doctor had asked me to inform him if I bled continuously from d&c after 6 weeks. Since you didn't bleed for 3 weeks in between, his could likely be your period on the 5th week.
The first period was unusual for me, but still didn't last over 5-6 days. And had heavy flow for about 3. My normal periods in total last only 3-4 days.
I suggest you consult your gynaec. Have you checked if your HCG is dropped yet? If it's still not dropped it could be potentially RPOC, but I hope not. Wish you luck..

Thanks so much for your response neeta.. what is rpoc?
I did start getting negative tests 5 weeks after d&c, then a very heavy first period which teetered off after a week, and now back in full force! And just to add to confusion I got a positive ovulation test today! How could this even be true if I’m bleeding? Totally don’t know my body anymore! Will def give the docs a call tomorrow, just want to know what’s normal/not normal. And sick to death of bleeding now 🫠🫠

@Amy I hope you feel better soon. RPOC is retained products from the miscarried pregnancy, but I'm glad you got a negative and the period, which likely indicates no Rpoc. The bleeding pattern is beyond my understanding, so I won't infer anything out of it. One more info about the Ovulation test kits. If you have HCG between 5 and 25 you can test negative on pregnancy kit n positive on OPKs. Not fluctuating rise/peak, but a constant shade result.
I had a positive on OPK for like 8 weeks.
So I suggest you take your Ovulation tests for couple more days and see if you actually peaked/ovulated. My guess is you have lingering low HCG in your system which could be showing a positive result and misleading you.

@Amy If you think you're getting constant positive OPKs, do inform your doctor and maybe they'll order a blood test to check HCG. Mine was 9 after 5 weeks, while I had tested negative preg after 2 weeks of D&C.
Since 9 wasn't concerning to my gynaec, I stopped worrying about it. Feel free to DM me if you want to discuss anything further.
