Just keep cleaning them with cooled boiled water. My baby has this only just started getting better and he's 5 weeks now he's had it since birth. Unless his eyes start getting red and irritated I wouldn't worry. It's normal they can't produce tears until much later so they can get blocked and produce gunk. U can do a tear duct massage that can help tye blockage as well x

The midwife told me that if it’s yellow then continue to clean at home. If it goes green then it may require some drops from the doctor.

thankyou!! my midwife wasnt much help when i mentioned it 🥲

If you’re breastfeeding/expressing you can also use breast milk on the eyes to help clean them. X

We had this problem, so we boiled water and used cotton wool balls, but allowed them to cool, then cleared the eye nearly every hour. Unfortunately the discharge did change green and she needed antibiotic eye drops, which cleared it in two days. We continued to clean the eyes and used colostrum I have collected x

Breast milk work wonders for a clog tear duct

We had this problem, we had to go doctors and we got given some eye drops, request an appointment just in case it’s conjunctivitis or something x

I used a bit of colostrum for my daughter whenever she had a gunky eye and it worked quicker than eye drops x

My little one had this and they gave me some drops for conjunctivitis as a precaution - make sure every cotton wall wipe, you are throwing it away and then using a new one per wipe. If you’re breastfeeding, express a bit and wipe with that too, that helped us! And make sure the water is boiled and cooled, to ensure it’s sterile xx

Obstetrician led

I’m having shared care between midwife’s and obstetrician.

My previous pregnancy I had extra growth scans as baby was measuring big and I had pre-eclampsia during labour and a full dilated emergency C-section.

This time round I’m having obstetrician appointments, midwives appointments, cervical length scan every two weeks from 16-22/24, and extra growth scans again .

I’m just finding it all a lot to process can anyone let me know there experiences and if they went on to have a happy pregnancy despite it

Polly??

My 3 year old son is completely insistent that baby sisters name will be Polly. I think he just got attached ages ago after hearing it shouted in the park and now it does matter what name we suggest, even if he says he likes it, he still insists her name is Polly.

Now I dont hate it but its not really what I imagine for my daughter either?? I typically like full (yet girly) names with a cute nickname that can work in either a professional setting or out of work.

I think Polly just feels like a cute nickname to me? Also, I had an imaginary friend heavily inspired by Polly Pocket as a child so I dont think that helps 🤣

We just cant seem to agree on any names as a family so a bit stumped!

Getting your induction call?

I have an induction booked for today, and was told I’d receive a call between 8 am and 9 am to let us know what time to head into the hospital. I haven’t received a call yet.

For the ladies who were induced, when did you receive your call/is it worth me following up with them? I’m sure we’ll get caught at some point soon and don’t want to be that irritating person chasing up necessarily 😂

Baby boy is here!

Just had baby boy this morning at 5:49am 🥹🥰 I was in labor for 10 hours and pushed him out within 9 pushes. I cried tears of joy for like 20 minutes. All that pain was worth seeing his adorable little face and chubby cheeks 🫶🏾

C section advice

I am 34 weeks tomorrow and have been booked to have an induction at 37 weeks due to my waters leaking! They let me know today that I will be induced using the hormone drip and ive heard so many negative stories about the hormone drip and I also had a very negative induction on my first little girl. So I am looking into having an elective section instead. I know they can be frowned upon and I also know the recovery is alot harder than vaginally birth. But I genuinely think its my best option for me especially as my we live so far away from family and need to have someone come stay with our daughter.

Any advice would be appreciated on what to expect.
