Got to leave them at their carers for 7:30 to get to a job as early as possible (self employed cleaner) and I just can’t be feckin arsed. They’re still asleep, I dread the morning routine and so today, I’m leaving later and letting the demons sleep a bit longer. Considering going school hours only 😭

No sorry

I'm a sahm but I'm up from 5.30 with my 10 month old and wake up my older 2 at 6.45 to leave at 7.40 to get them both to school on time. When I was working both older girls were up by 6.30 to be at a childminders for 7.30ish so completely understand how you feel

I have a 10 month old, 3yr old, 5 yr old,
Don’t as me how but we get up at 7 and out the door for 8:20 to get to school,
I’m currently in the process of opening a playroom and I will only be working within the school hours as there is no1 else to take or get my children x

Ok not the same ages - my eldest is 11 and can sort himself and my youngest is 3
We leave at 7:30ish to take her to the childminder and my eldest and me to work (I work at his school)
My youngest basically gets up and dressed and goes to the childminders where she is fed and that eases some stress!
We have to be organised we HAVE to have everything sorted the night before!
I also find that once we have got into a routine they don’t need waking etc coz they wake naturally - obviously as the end of terms approaching we’re all feeling the drain so that may feel different etc but in general the more you do something the more it becomes the norm
If you can afford the cut in pay then absolutely be school hours only for the short term as it gives you a less stressful day etc

Damn that sounds bloody awful and what a long day for the child going to school. Have any of the teachers noticed she’s tired in class?
If you have the option to, I think you would all probably benefit from school hours only. What time are you all waking up? Sounds stressful as hell!
If you didn’t want to do school hours, could you do overnight/night shift hours instead and work opposite hours to your partner (if you have one)?
My daughter started in September, I wake her up at 8am, she gets dressed and brushes her teeth herself and will come downstairs to watch some cartoons whilst I sort her lunch. We leave at 8.30am, it’s a 6 min drive and she’s at her school by 8.40am when the classroom doors open. I think she’d be a zombie if I tried to wake her up earlier 😄

3.5 year old and 16 month old to get ready solo to leave the house at about 7.20. It works well if I get up at 6.15 and get myself ready then get them up at 6.45, but of course they regularly wake up much earlier and getting everyone ready takes 10x longer!
Can you prep ahead a breakfast so it's super quick and something to just grab?
Sometimes I long for the days when I just had to get up and get myself ready 😂

I have a 2.5 Yr old and 15 month old twins and I literally am dead by 8am when I get back home yo work after the nursery drop off. I usually get up at 6 so I get their small brekkie ready, put their clothes out, and make my coffee. I am militant in the morning, I wake them at 6:50 latest if they not awake, change them one by one, shut the door so no escape from the room. Then in highchairs/at table to eat. Brush teeth and Go! We out by 7:35 latest. It's exhausting. I dread my oldest starting school and having uniform and 2 drops offs!

Yes!!! I have a reception child and a just turned one year old out the door for 7 😩 Wednesday to Friday!! It is really hard work especially as it's dark now on the mornings. Wednesday is our long day and my son is also at after school club. We are all ready for an early night when we get home
I only do the long days twice a week, school hours two more days a week which is nicer and easier. I hate getting myself up early so it’s extra crap getting two little ones who don’t want to get up too 😂😮💨 may well look into just at least giving them extra half hour in the long mornings.

@Neena does she not have breakfast. My son goes to nursery , starts at 9 but have to be up by 7:15 at latest so he can wake up watch his cartoons and have breakfast. Days I work I start at 8 so we even have to leave house by 7:20 at latest. He will get breakfast at grandparents on those days I work xx

yes she will either have toast, porridge or scrambled eggs.
Soon as she wakes she will get up to pee and then brushes her teeth. Then back into bedroom, gets undressed from pyjamas and into her uniform which I hang on the door.
When she comes downstairs around 8.10 I will have her breakfast ready for her and she eats it whilst watching cartoons and I can tidy kitchen.
If your son starts nursery at 9, why up so early? Is the nursery far from where you live?
When she used to start nursery at 7.30, I used to get her up at 6.45, only because the nursery used to be a 15 min drive.
Maybe because we’ve been doing this routine since she was 3 she knows not to mess around? 🤷🏽♀️ I do have friends who tell me about their morning battles so I am thankful she doesn’t mess around lol

@Neena we wouldn't get anywhere haha. Takes his time with breakfast. He wakes up early anyway before 7. Nursery is close by.
When did she start dressing herself. X
