I've got the health visitor due tomorrow morning, and I'm absolutely dreading it. Keep thinking the worst that she'll find my home inadequate and that I won't be able to have my baby at home. I've wanted to just clean everywhere today, but just feeling too overwhelmed and just did nothing instead. I know it's clean and warm, and my baby has somewhere safe to sleep etc. Why do these things make you feel like a bad person. Stressing over every little thing. I've got a freeroaming rabbit who lives in the living room, and it's like, what's she going to say about that? Overthinking everything. Roll on the afternoon when she's been and gone

I had mine today & it was absolutely fine. It was just more of an introduction to the service and she gave me some leaflets about feeding and some vitamins, advice on safe sleeping and that’s about it really. I thought she’d be looking all over the house but she just sat in the living room! A free roaming rabbit is no different to a dog in my eyes 😊 Try not to worry - the health visitor was really nice and friendly! She was with us for no more than 20 mins! X

Did they message you? I've not heard anything about a health visitor! But don't remember them coming before the baby did last time? 🤔
I'm sure that you'll be fine, when I did have a visit previous time they didn't look around at all! Was very much tick box exercise and dissappear! X

@Marnie I just got a letter in the post out of the blue. Otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue

she phoned me a couple of weeks ago asking if she could come sooner and she sounded really nice on the phone. I'll be on my own as my o/h is stuck in work. So I'm hoping she won't be here long and have no problems with anything 🤞

I have a free roaming rabbit in our bedroom 😬 never really asked about it before when I had my first

Not sure if you know but first you don’t have to accept having health visitors at all so you can reject it completely. Or, you could ask to meet them in their office or have a phone appointment. My hv emailed me for a home visit and I asked for a phone call instead because it’s easier, less stress about tidying up and them judging you at home lol

With my first I didn’t know they rejecting their services was even an option or the home appointments

I had mine last week and she was lovely, I didn’t even have anywhere for buba to sleep yet as it’s at a relatives house. We also have an incredible lively dog and I was worried she’d think we can’t bring a baby home with that wild thing jumping about and she was completely fine. Don’t worry, I’m sure she’ll think you’re doing great!

I had my prenatal visit last Thursday. I didn’t even think to clean and my cat and dog did not respect her personal space at all😂 She was fine with it and could relate having dogs herself. They’re normal people and it has to be quite bad living conditions for them to intervene.
We just sat on the sofa and had intro chat, discussed sleep, feeding etc. I really enjoyed her coming over and I like that she’s met me before birth so knows me now to come back when things are more hectic. It was quite out the blue too as she literally phoned 3 days before. I would try not to over think it, they’re here to help.

Exactly what said 👍🏻
I’ve rejected mine. Absolutely no support after I had my first and now they want to come BEFORE I’ve even had the baby. No thanks 🥱
I will have them around once baby is born to make sure weight etc is ok.

My health visitor just sat at the dining room table didn’t look around the house at all. Asked a few questions about things we’d bought and that was it. I have a free roaming bunny too but she just stayed upstairs hv didn’t ask about pets or anything

not all counties do it. I live in leeds and they don't where I am
