Hello,
I'm an exclusive/just enough pumper. I've always made just enough and maybe a little extra. I'd made enough to make a very small freezer supply even.
About a month ago, I noticed my supply went down. Some days are better than others but I find even pumping more than usual, I don't make enough most days.
I've been supplementing about 50-100ml a day of formula (which overly is fine) but I'm quite disappointed about it.
I wanted to breastfeed so bad and couldn't and pumping is very important to me.
I find I don't even feel DMER anymore. Like I have to massage my breasts to make all the milk come.
What I've tried:
Power pumping
Moringa and Fenugreek supplements (both gave baby bad gas)
Taking prenatals
More pumping sessions
Changing pump parts
I've done a lot of research but here's hoping you guys might have some recommendations đź’™

How many pumping sessions do you do each day and are you including at least one pump between 1 AM and 6 AM? How much are you hydrating?

Have you tried modifying a power pumping schedule? When I was EPing my eldest (preemie and never managed to latch) I found the 20-10-10 schedule to not help at all so instead I’d do an initiate/massage cycle (for my Medela symphony it was 15min) every hour on the hour for about 6 hours. Now that I’m BFing my second, I find cluster feeds mimic the every hour on the hour schedule a LOT more than the 20-10-10
I pump when my daughter wakes up to eat, which is anywhere from 1:30-3am and I pump 6-7 times a day.
I try and drink 2 of those giant water bottles a day
I have tried modified versions but not this one. I'll give it a go

My lactation consultant told me that to build supply I should aim for 8-10 pumping sessions. To maintain supply it was recommended to stay in that 8-10 range, but a day or two of 6/7 sessions won’t hurt as long as you get back to that target range. She also told me when I was building supply to power pump in the morning for a few days in a row.
With hydration I’d incorporate something with electrolytes in it. I do coconut water (just watch the sugars in it - there are lighter options on the market) or a Gatorade or Body Armour (also low sugar or sugar free option).
You probably also already know this, but be careful with Fenugreek as some women have supply drops with it. But it sounds like you’ve stopped using that.
yeah I'm not using any supplements. And I was told to maintain a supply a 6-7 range would be ok. I'll try and incorporate more in a day. I'm trying to currently pump every time my baby has a bottle which helped my supply when I was establishing it initially.
I had done body armour and didn't find an improvement but now that my supply is down, maybe I'll try it again
I appreciate your advice, thank you :)
