We are getting a babysitter for the first time for our 13 month old. Do I need to also provide or pay for food for the babysitter? It will be from 6 to 9:30 pm. Babysitter charges 25 dollars per hour and baby will be sleeping for most of the time.

Also, I am feeding my baby at 5:30 before she gets here.

I think that depends on what you agree on

No x

is she baby sitting at your place? Also depends on how often baby eats. I know my baby eats 3-4 hours so I’d probably have something on standby just in case. $25 an hour to watch a sleeping baby though is tough (i have no idea what the rates are but still)

She works at the daycare and this our first time getting a babysitter. She is baby sitting at our place. I will give my baby dinner at 5:30. The baby sitter just needs to play with her, change her diaper, give her bottle of milk and put her to sleep by 7:30. My baby normally wakes up around 11 pm for more milk. But we will be home by then.

I think that 25 dollars per hour is already a lot, so I don’t think that I also need to provide dinner…

If you’re talking about dinner for baby sitter, no

Yes, I am talking about dinner for baby sitter.

I would not expect any food if I were babysitting for only 3 1/2 hours. Plenty of time to eat before or after. Or since she knows your baby will be sleeping she should take her own snacks that's what I would do.

I babysit and don’t expect to be fed. usually people allow me to help myself to whatever I can find in the fridge or pantry but otherwise I just bring my own snacks or wait until after and get food on my way home. They won’t starve for 3 hours lol

I would maybe just show her where the tea & coffee is and say help yourself to snacks if you want (biscuits crisps fruit) just to be polite but I don’t think you need to make her dinner or anything! If I was her I would have a late lunch and late dinner before and after
