Flat head on one side

My little one is 14 weeks old and the left side of her head is flat where she sleeps on that side. She has always preferred to lay that way. She has been to the gp and nurse for 8 week jabs and since then at 10 weeks we were in hospital as she had RSV and a uti. She has problems with her right kidney and we’ve been in and out of hospital for the whole of December. When we saw a consultant last week he mentioned about the left side of her head being flat, he did say that it should be ok and should start to rectify itself as she starts to hold her head and move around more now. I’m just so paranoid now that I am a bad mum and I haven’t done enough with her to prevent her head from going flat on one side. We do as much tummy time and playing on her play mat as we can. I feel like it’s been a struggle for the past month where we’ve had numerous hospital admissions and all she has wanted to do is sleep and recover. I am positioning myself on the right side so that she turns her head that way and sitting her up on the sofa/ on me so that her head is up, now she can support her head more. I use the black and white flash cards and get her to turn her head back and forth. When she is asleep now I try and turn her head the other way, sometimes she stays that way but other times she reverts back to laying on the side that’s flat!
Am I just taking this to heart and being super paranoid? Can I do anything else to help this?

My girl had a head preference and flat head, went to physio from 9 weeks and trust me , the minute they are engaged in what's around them it will rectify ... by 1 her head will be nice and round xxx

thank you it is very hard to move her head especially when she is sleeping, she either turns back the other way or wakes up!
My partner keeps saying to me that I’m not a bad mum and we’ve been through a lot this past month so to be kinder to myself. Think I just over think it.

My baby boy had this too (12 weeks) and the HV suggested we do all the things you are doing and it seems to have done the trick as his head is now rounding out nicely. I worried about this as well and still do, but my mum pointed out that you never notice adults walking around with a flat head on one side, so it will eventually resolve itself. It’s hard to stopping worrying though x

My baby is 22 weeks, but I should have been born in September. She hates tummy time and struggles with reflux. She has a flat head on one side two and I'm getting more worried. She loves lying on her back and grabbing at things above or in front of her. We've built her high chair today and she had a bumbo and jumparoo for Christmas, so we are going to try encouraging her that way as well as all the other things you have mentioned which we already do to. It's just so hard to get them to move isn't it! X

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.
