I know that it is easier/less disruptive to change baby before feeding overnight generally, but if your little one poos during the feed, how do you deal with this if they have reflux?
I hold my daughter upright and try to burp her before going to change her, but I find she is always sick afterwards. Does anyone have any tricks to avoid this? It's not every time but if she feeds, is held upright for a while, changes, is sick, feeds again to sleep, held upright then it can be a long time until I get back to sleep and usually not a long time until we are back awake again 😴🫠
Thanks!

I asked a friend this question as we were struggling. She suggested putting lots of barrier cream on (Vaseline or Sudocrem) and leaving as it will only be a few hours before the nappy change. It’s the lesser of 2 evils I guess… protect their bum and don’t aggravate the reflux

@Nicole yeh, I must admit if I know it's a tiny poop and I've just fed her and she's gone to sleep I'll just leave her 🙈

I use lots of barrier cream.

I've been using a small pillow/blanket to prop baby up a bit when changing, bit awkward but seems to help compared to laying flat. But as above sometimes if it didn't sound/smell like a real stinker I might leave it till she wakes up next 😅

Pillow or cushion to prop baby up

Pillow to prop up & I use zip up sleepsuits at night so no faffing with poppers - get it done quickly.

Thanks all! I hadn't thought of propping her up so will give that a go as well as more use of the cream.

I use some Terry towels on the changing mat so that she is on an incline. Seems to help
