So I was a nurse apprentice and left due to the long hours/nights and not seeing my child. I have been offered a job in my daughter’s nursery with 40% off and it’s 1 mile up the road. I would like to progress for my future to and feel there is little progression here but it’s so close to home dad can collect sometimes to with it being local and the fees are cheaper and discount on top. Will be working 4 days 7.30-6pm in a 2 year old room
I have also been offered a job that’s 12 miles away around 20 minute drive within a baby room as they have 2 baby rooms. My daughter can come with me and be working 8-5.30 4 days a week with a Monday off. It’s a lot more in fees but still has 30% off but still works out more than other nursery. There is more progression here and it’s a forest school nursery. However it’s not the local area for school my daughter will go either so her friends she makes won’t the same school.
So unsure what’s best to do I feel stuck

I would recommend the second nursery. Avoid being in the same room as your child where possible and it will make the transition into nursery/work life much better for you and your child. Progression is great for you and your career.
Your child will make friends where ever they go! It may be unlikely that her friends go to the same school anyway.
Having a day off makes the world of difference for working in nurseries and gives you a day you can either have time to yourself or a day with your child!
