Mmmm I’ll let you know in August….
First was born 02/01/2024
second degree tear ( his arm was on his head) but he slid right on out. 6lbs
36+6
So I’m not sure but I’m definitely hella nervous.

2nd degree tear with my first in Oct 2022 and only a 1st degree tear with my second in Feb 2025. Honestly didn’t even realise I tore the second time around 😅

2nd degree tear with my first august 2020 no tear with my 2nd july 2024

My first birth went so smooth and fast my son came out in like 2 pushes surprisingly
Had my second in January back in 2023 and I got a second-degree tear because I couldn’t push her out 🙂

First was born 11/22/22 I did 5 minutes under 12 hours 9 pushes pushed vaginal honestly had a amazing first labor experience no complications

Had a second degree tear with my first, I pushed too fast. In all honesty I hated the on call OB and was determined to push my baby out before he got the chance to touch her or me again.
Second and third births were FAR different, I went unmedicated and avoided a hospital like the plague hahah so I was more in control and confident. Both times no tears!
Things I also changed:
1. Laboured/birthed in water
2. Hot water compress on my perineum
3. Pelvic floor therapy during my pregnancy
4. Birthed in a position I felt confident in, not my back. It helps your pelvis open up more making more room for baby.
Will this guarantee no tears… no. Is it worth a shot to help prevent tears… I think so!

i had a 2nd degree tear too, and honestly, my second birth was way smoother and less scary, so you got this!
here's what the 'Heal Baby Care App' says....
"Many women experience a second-degree tear during their first childbirth, which can be quite common. For many, the second childbirth can be different; some report less tearing due to increased muscle tone or different birthing techniques. Others may still experience tearing, but the recovery can be quicker since they are more familiar with the process.
How are you feeling about your upcoming childbirth experience?
