My little one is 5 weeks old. At first he would sleep really well during the day and relatively well at night (waking up every 3 hours for food or sometimes we would need to wake him up. Recently he has been sleeping pretty well during the day but has these super long wake windows at night. I keep seeing that babies around his age should be getting 3-4 hours of sleep each night so I figured I'd ask. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I pretty much wrote this same thing the other day nearly detail for detail. We concluded it's just how it is until they're about 3 months old as they have day/night mixed up until then. Just gotta power through the nights for now x
@Jenny thanks for the confirmation. I figured it was day/night confusion myself but at 3 am with hjm crying in my ear, I just feel like the worst mother ever.

I would just make sure he is getting plenty of light during the day (and a set rough wake up time if possible) and that things are calm and dark as possible at night time. Obviously he currently has no idea of the difference but you can help them figure it out a bit. I started it really early with my girl and she started sleeping through (6+ hours) at 7 weeks
@Lauryn i was thinking the same thing. Problem is I live in a basement apartment where the natural light isn't the best. I try take him out to get natural light, but it's not all day every day

Just make it as bright as possible and if you can get out for a little while in the afternoon that should help ☺️
@Lauryn I'd love to. If only the weather will cooperate
