We got any fussy eaters in this group I don’t know how to get my daughter to try new things all she wants is cereal anything we put on her plate she just won’t touch we waiting for Dietician to get in contact with us but really don’t no what help they will be. All she eats is cereal crisps biscuits yoghurts and maybe a sandwich sometimes. Just want her to try she nearly 3 years old.

Yepppp, it’s awful hey! We’re slightly better as my daughter will eat protein (meat, tofu etc) but otherwise it’s bread-like products and Frubes yoghurts. She’ll occasionally have a galia melon but otherwise fruit and veg are a no go. It’s so challenging isn’t it, definitely the most triggering part of parenting for me so far (I love eating healthy!).
Do you do the division of responsibility? I find that keeps me sane at least.
If I’m really nonchalant she’ll sometimes try something new, or at least lick it. If she can tell that we want her to try anything, or put the least amount of pressure on, it’ll be a flat-out no.
We just gotta keep offering a variety of foods and model healthy eating, and just try and keep ourselves regulated 😅 it’s all a phase etc.
Has your daughter got constipation issues as a result too?

Yeah we defo try and offer so many foods for her when was giving her food before she turned 1 just used to love pizza and hot dogs and so much more foods then one day she got little bit older decided no I don’t like it not sure if it’s sensory related.
And as for constipation she can go a toilet but it’s hard no loose stools

we found that serving meals family style which allowed her to choose what she wanted meant she'd eat more.
Snack plates with small amounts of different foods helped too.

yes we noticed a steady decline in the range she’d eat from 1 year onwards, and then it dropped dramatically around her 2nd birthday. Fussiness does peak at 2 so hopefully it’ll improve for them over time!
Preference for particular textures is so common so could def be a sensory issue. It sounds like your daughter prefers dry and crunchy textures? Have you tried fruit leather or home baked kale chips etc - ways to make fruit/veg drier?
And multivitamin!

I’ve heard so much about farmhouse / family sharing style of eating and how that helps, your comment has inspired me to try it tonight!

i believe research shows even if they have different foods putting it in the middle of the table lets them feel involved in the eating process and makes them more willing to try the same foods as you cos they've made the decision of what they want to eat :)
