Lansinoh nipple cream or silver cups?

I breastfed my daughter for 21 months, so hoping to do the same for my second baby (due next month). I used nipple cream in the first few months- especially as she was born with tongue tie so it was very painful until we had it separated.

This time round, I’m considering getting some silver cups as heard these are great for nipple healing. Does anyone have any experience using these- would you recommend? Do I need nipple cream too if I have the silver cups?

Use both. Cream and then the silver cups on top x

The silver cups were magical imo! But as everyone said, go for both as I did and had no issues

Also the nip cream makes an excellent lip balm

I used both, but separately. You’re supposed to use the cups by themselves for their maximum healing benefits. Google says: The silver in the cups releases silver ions, which have antimicrobial and healing effects, and the creams can create a barrier that reduces the effectiveness of the silver.

You can put a drop of breast milk in them, though. I definitely used the cups more often and as a first time Mom didn’t experience really any soreness, cracking, or dryness they definitely work

The cups worked much better for me than cream ever did. Both of my children had oral ties so I experienced the pain with both starting out.

You’re supposed to use one or the other, not both at the same time.

I would not have continued breastfeeding this time around if it wasn’t for the silver cups. I found it much more helpful than the nipple cream especially because it shields your nipples after feeding so they don’t rub against your bra and get even more irritated

I wish I had looked into this myself as the first 3-4 weeks of EBF till my baby got the latching I had problems and got very sore, I just used the balms after every feed to try heal and sooth.

I used plain lanolin balm and found it super helpful. The one by Wren is great

There was a study done that found using lanolin nipple cream didn't improve healing any faster than using nothing at all, and it can make the nipple kind of slippery so it can be hard for baby to latch.

As for silver cups, some people really rave about them but others find that it can delay healing, almost making the nips a bit "swampy" as it's too moist and lack of air flow.

Give both a try, but if they don't work for you then don't persevere

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Silver cross pushchair

Has anybody had experience with the sliver cross cove or breeze? Me and my partner can’t make an agreement 😅 I like the cove but is it worth the extra money to the breeze?
