I got told by a midwife once that it's a journey not a race. Your little girl is just taking her own pace and that pace is just a little slower than what is expected. Keep going. You got this! ✌️
They didn’t say, but I’m going to ring the HV to ask @Julia x x
My son was diagnosed with global developmental delay at age 3 (he wasn't talking he had just learnt to walk low muscle tone and not much understanding he was put at a 18 month old level cognitively). My son is 15 years old now he finally talked at about 3 and a half years, nearly 4, and has achieved so much we got him into see occupational therapist speech therapist and physio soon after diagnosis and still see them to this day he has always had support at preschool primary school and now in high school. Yes, you can still tell he is delayed, but we are so proud of how far he has come. At first, I was devastated and blamed myself a lot, but once we got help, that helped me a lot too much to support what I needed, and thankfully, we got that some days I still miss what could have been but in another way I get to enjoy my sons childhood longer and get the closeness just a bit longer my son is still about 5-6 years cognitively delayed but we are all working on helping him.
What kind of developmental delays has she been diagnosed with? If you don’t mind me asking x
