Hey fellow mamas, what’s your philosophies on discipline? When should I start? How do you discipline?
My 2.5 year old is a smart cookie and I’m seeing her start to understand some of the basic rights and wrongs (especially wrongs 🤦♀️) and I want to introduce more structure to hopefully curb her learning any bad behaviours in the future. All tips and advice is appreciated, but no judgement please! 🙏

Discipline is very individual.
We try to do boundaries, holding boundaries, and processing consequences for crossing those boundaries.
ie, " if you throw dirt while outside, you will go inside immediately"
Consequences only work if you follow through EVERY time. Otherwise they don't know if you're being serious. So don't threaten anything you aren't willing to go through with. Like "if you don't come here right now, I'm going to throw out all your toys". It might work once, but as soon as they test the boundary and you don't follow through they will just ignore it moving forward.
This is the ideal. In practice my kids trigger me so badly every day, and maintaining cool and composure is tough sometimes!
I like Big, Little Feelings. Their Instagram and blog offer a lot of great free advice. They do have a couple courses as well. I've been toying with the idea of purchasing one... But haven't yet.
