Hey girls,
Just want some advice, so I have 2 nursery places available for my daughter who’s 2 now and will start in Sep. One is 10-15 mins walk from my house and they can do 2 full days a week 9:30-4:30pm.
The other is a school nursery and my son attends the school too. It’s a 3 min walk from my house. They are trailing 2 year old places this sep and have offered me Mon- Friday from 12:30-3:30pm.
Which one do I pick? I loved the thought of have two days free when the kids are in school and my 2 year old in nursery so I can run errands in peace or have some me time to clean the house. But this 12:30-3:30pm which is 3 hours a day. Will this be enough for me to plan things around pick up time.
I don’t know which is better, I know the school nursery is more closer and my son attends there so I can pick them both up at 3:30pm and come home. I’m planning to try for baby no 3 this year too so what things should I be considering I.e being pregnant , appointments and general lack of energy lol
Any advice is appreciated 💕

My red flag is the Monday - Friday school nursery timing. 12:30 - 3:30. My 2 year old took her lunch nap during this time. Maybe your LO doesn’t take lunch naps so that would be fine. But if they do still I’d be conscious of that and how would they cope if they no longer took that nap.
omg your so right I didn’t even think of this, my little one takes a nap bang on 12:30 for about 2 hours. I think I’m gonna go with the 2 full days a week xx

I mean my LO did drop her day nap at 2/2.5 but I feel by the time you dropped her off you’d pick her up.
As for the first nursery why ao short in hours? Why only 9:30-4:30 is it to stretch the 30 funded hours? Genuinely curious and want to make sure you’re getting bang for buck 😂

I would go with option A. You can drop her after dropping off your son and after that you’re free to do what you need, like the errands you mentioned. Option B is such an awkward time and before you know it you’ll be rushing around. There’s not much flexibility with those 3 hours per day, also option A allows her to get into a good routine
Thank you girls for the recommendations, I’m going with option A. My daughter naps at 12pm so I think she needs her naps to be happy and content throughout the day. The nursery has said I can get 15 hours free finding a week and I can either space this out everyday or 2 days from 9-4pm. I think the two full days is better in terms of routine and I have a few hours to get things done.

Just a thought. I had to be very creative while on maternity leave to save money and I did something similar to this.
School starts roughly 8:30. So drop your son off then. Put your daughter in at 9. Allows you time to send off your son but also go to nursery and say goodbye to her. Pick her up at 12. Let her nap from 12:30-2:30. Then by the time she wakes it’ll be time to pick up your son.
Still allows time for errands in the morning. Do house chores while she sleeps and avoids go out to school and nursery separately/twice, can do it in one swoop.
