Hey, so I've been breastfeeding for 6 and a half months now and normally it goes OK, bit of soreness at the beginning but all normal.
The past week or so my little boy has been starting to bite down with his gums (he doesn't have teeth yet) but he bites down really hard to the point it really hurts and will also pull on my nipples with his gums.
It happens on both sides, I just don't know why he's doing it. Is it something all babies do?

Seems to be a sensory thing at this stage. My daughter will be 6 months on the 8th and she already has two teeth 🥴 she’s been testing them out on me and ouch! I just say ow and it startles her so she lets go and then I remove myself and don’t put her back on until after a little while. They start to realize biting = no boob so they stop. Also for your sake during this time, it’s better if you watch him closely while nursing and as soon as he’s done actively nursing you remove your nipple. They usually do it when they’re done and bored.
