I'm not sure what I'm looking for in this post... Encouragement? Solidarity? Maybe I just need to put it out into the world to make myself feel better.
I'm not enjoying my baby. I don't want to be around him. If somebody else is there, I will literally do anything else other than take him. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love him to death, and if we're alone, of course I take care of his needs. But it fills me with dread to do so...
I've recently been taken under the care of my local perinatal mental health team, but it's going to take a while until I get any extra support.
Somebody just tell me I'm not a monster and it's going to be okay š

Definitely not a monster!! I met someone who hated the newborn phase, loved their baby but had to go back to work early for themselves. They got pregnant again and loved the phase the second time around. She found the isolation difficult, amongst other things. I am struggling a bit too, itās more common than you think people just donāt voice it because as you have labelled yourself a tad they think they are a monster for feeling that way xx

Hope you get the help and support you need, youāre absolutely not a monster, and it is going to be ok š«¶š»š«¶š»š«¶š»

It takes a lot to put it out there that you are struggling so just wanted to say you should be proud of yourself for that. Struggling is more common than you think and reaching out for support is never easy. I have had the odd struggle too, itās intense all of a sudden being responsible for another human being. I feel like Iāve lost myself a bit. I hope you get help from the perinatal team asap, but donāt beat yourself up in the meantime. You are keeping another human alive and itās not easy š

I feel very similarly. Most days I feel dread, like āwhat the help have I doneā and feeling that there is no out. I donāt have a solution unfortunately as I am also in the thick of it. But wanted to validate your feelings and provide solidarity by saying I am experiencing similar feelings. My DMās are always open x
