Umbilical cord infected ?

My boy is 4 weeks now and the cord fall off fine and was drying fine with no issue until today I notice that it’s no longer dry and looks like there something inside his belly button with yellow around it, there’s a bit of liquid too but doesn’t smell. He’s been more fussy and sleeping less with eating more. Constantly wants to breastfeed and sleep with me.
Should I call emergency ? I feel so bad for him. It must be painful 🥲

Awww poor baby I would say yes definitely take him to the hospital or take him to see his doctor ASAP, you don’t want it to get worse and you don’t want to wonder the what if’s. We never like seeing our little honeys in pain. I hope everything turns out ok 🤍🤍

Personally I think that does look infected so I would take him to hospital. Best to be on the safe side and they should be able to get it sorted quickly. XX

Infected hun, call doc in the morning or 111 this evening they sort you out x

Yes go to the doctor or ER asap. Don’t try to treat it at home or put rubbing alcohol

Thank you for the comments 🙏 I’ve contacted 111 now just waiting for local treatment

Hey! My son had this, it looked like a weird red bump in his bellybutton and had fluid that would drain and crust on/around it! If you see something inside it is most likely a granuloma, no harm really but should still be taken care of, bring it up to your DR many of them will just go away on their own after a few weeks! My sons had to be treated with silver nitrate because it wouldn’t go away. These infections/bumps are often caused by accidental tugging of the stump before falling off by clothes, diapers, etc. easily fixable!

My baby’s kind of looked like this but it could be completely different! Our baby’s umbilical cord got tugged on during a photo shoot with a blanket and started coming off, after it did come off it was slightly puss filled and leaking on her outfits like this little ones. We had an appointment the next day or so, I talked to her doctor and she said it’s just the healing process but to clean it and dry it good after a real bath. I’d still talk to a doctor and hopefully the 111 helped too but hoping that puts your mind at ease a bit but stay on your toes at the same time mama. You’re doing great!

Ooft, I would wipe gently with warm salt water on a cotton roll and see a doctor tomorrow

we went to the doctor and the doctor say just that is not infection but granuloma. I hope is not painful for him and resolve very soon.

not painful at all! They will probably give it a month or two to clear up on its own and if it doesn’t then they may just remove it with silver nitrate! I watched them remove my sons and he had absolutely no reaction or discomfort!

I use salt treatment for 2 days and it dry up on its own. No worry now thank God 😩❤️

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Reduced Movements

Has anyone else gone in for monitoring for reduced movements and as soon as you arrive at triage the baby starts moving and the CTG is normal? It makes me feel like I am over reacting.

2nd pregnancy after c section

I’m not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon but in the future possibly. I just wanted to know how is pregnancy after c section like my fear is having to go through another emergency operation or even putting strain on my incision during pregnancy

Baby Movements

Hello, I’m a FTM currently 18W5D pregnant. I’ve been getting this tugging feeling in my stomach after I eat, it’s uncomfortable but not painful. I don’t know whether that’s the baby moving or round ligaments pain.

I’ve also been getting round ligament pain which is either a sharp stabbing pain or a stretching sensation. These happens whether or not I’ve eaten while the tugging feeling is only after I’ve eaten.

So, could the tugging feeling be the baby or something else.

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.
