SAHM summer time and out of the house

How often are you doing things out of the house this summer?

My kids are 6 and 3 yrs old and it feels like I’m failing everyday/week we aren’t out doing things constantly. And my 6 year old definitely wants to be doing all the things. We just don’t have the finances to be doing things every day. So I’m curious what you guys do each week to stay busy at home and how often you aren’t at home with the kids doing activities

Splash Pads, the pool, local parks, library, VBS, these have been our go to things! Sometimes an indoor play place like recently with this massive heat wave!

We go to the storytime at the library and local parks. We also just signed up for skyzone trampoline park for one month and it costs $28/month.

There are so many free things to do if you have the time to search. Some of our favorites:
- free museum passes through the library (I've never lived in a town without them)
- Geocaching - download the app (you can use the free version) and take walks trying to find them. Many have little treasures and you bring your own and take a treasure/leave a treasure. Don't forget a pen to write on the paper inside that you found it.
- nature scavenger hunts, download a free list online and search
- community events - touch a truck, fire open houses, etc.
- free farms and places to see animals
- free concerts in the park, movies

We are at the library pretty much every day. Between story times and special events they put on, that covers a lot. Adding trips to our local (free) splash pad or getting out into a sprinkler in the backyard when it’s hot pretty much fills everything else.
You can also take the kids out for errands if that’s possible. We go grocery shopping, poke our head into the goodwill or second hand stores, and even just walk around the mall.
On cooler days, we rotate through local parks and/or walk our dogs. They often offer programming as well for kids.

I completely feel you! Similar here, my daughter always wants to have a fun day (which means outside the house- doing something expensive lol)
We have a trampoline and water play in the yard; lucky us we have neighbors with 3 kids similar age they always want to get together and they also have trampoline and a pool; It will be a lot of back and forth between the 2 houses; am planning to do once or twice a week to the library too.
Am planning a water park once maybe twice this summer depending- and there's a theater that has kids play I think we'll be good and fun.
Like financially I want to try to do 2 fun out days, maybe 3 .. but realistically they'll have full fun days at home- they're in charge of making their games fun at home lol
Trying to keep a certain schedule will help too I think idk

Download the app kidsbowlfree, you can sign your kids up they will get 2 games a day free or you can do $40 for a family pass to add yourself or anyone else who may want to take them and everyone gets 2 games a day for free all you have to pay for is shoe rental. I’m signed up at 2 of my local bowling alleys and it’s great for getting out of the house especially with really hot weather.

I'm a SAHM with a 6, 4 and 1 year old. M-F we usually go out 3x, and stay in 2x. We usually go out to a beach or playground or hike, all free stuff.

We're a part of Free Forest School, they have national chapters, they do child led hikes once a week. There's community play groups from the Family Resource Center, church groups, MOPS / MomCo.

I usually pack a lunch and we'll stay out all day until it's time to go home and make dinner.

Other 2 days we dont use the car, we do chores and learning, if we go outside we'll play with bubbles or chalk or ride bikes / scooters.

One of my mom friends tries to get out an hour every day.

Its completely different then my e all day day trips- and more manageable

The metro parks, and libraries have events so we do something once or twice a week at the library

One visit to a friend's
One visit to a metro park
Public pool or splash pad once a week

Its more for me than her. I can't stay in the house and be talked at all day.

My friend is over from another country but I don't feel like leaving the house

One of my old friend's is visiting where I currently live and we agreed to meet up today but I feel so tired and exhausted from everything that's been going on with me. I feel if I meet her I'm going to end up having another breakdown from the exhaustion which I have been having often. I'm just thinking about how I need to rest to be able to deal with my toddler and go back to work on Monday without feeling like I need another weekend. I'm torn on what to do so I need you guys to help me decide

Post partum dad

I have a 2 month old. A few weeks ago my husband crashed out because he didn't feel like he was getting to bond with her. I started exclusively breastfeeding around that time and honestly didnt see the big deal. Baby and I left for a few days and when we got back home, everything was fine. He was extremely hands-on. He helped with my meals, her bedtime, bath, stories.....for a few weeks it was great. Then he randomly sounds depressed af. He says our lo is better off without him, he wants to sleep all day , he asks me not to watch tv then tried playing a video game. He refused to reply to me when i asked any follow-up questions. Then he woke up our baby trying to race me to the bathroom first thing in the morning . He's doing a weird mix of crying, trying, and giving up. Im starting to feel like I cant handle him not being able to handle life with baby and just want to be alone. Are there resources for men?

Weaning

Hello mamas, could I get some advice please with how and what to wean as started this week with my baby but not really what to give and when what time day. Have started with puree vegetables and making them myself and offering it in the evening to my baby but she tends to get irritated and tired and has a few spoonfulls and then gives up and has a meltdown. So I’m questioning myself am I feeding her wrong time of day and what’s best to mix the food with milk or baby rice please.

Do I need to pay anything when my child starts school in September

I'm a new mum and obviously didn't grow up in the uk. I currently pay roughly £640 for nursery fees. I'm wondering if my expenses will reduce when my LO starts school or there'll be other expenses (besides bags, uniform etc) will my expenses be anywhere close to £600 monthly?

Separation Anxiety

Any of your children have separation anxiety. My son will be two soon and he still does not let us leave the room for even a few minutes without him following us. Is this the norm for anyone else??
