Feeling defeated about naps

Sleep has always been a struggle but panicking big time now with crèche looming. I cannot get her to nap in her cot/cosleeper. Nighttime is awful - 30 minutes of singing after a wind down/night time routine with a bath, picking her up when she’s at her wits end - things I can’t expect crèche to do. Sleeps fine in pram and car but obviously that’s no help for them! Followed wake windows/huckleberry, I’m able to stay calm with her so don’t think she’s picking up on my stress. Have been working on it for a month now and bar no longer feeding to sleep I’m getting no where. Crèche next week will be a disaster won’t it 🫠

Does she take a dummy? If she’s used to feeding to sleep and looking for that sucking comfort she may do well with a dummy.

If she's taking so long to go down I think there's maybe an element of under tiredness there. what's your current nap schedule looking like?

My nursery will put them to sleep in a pushchair. The end goal is for them to nap independently on the mat, but they'll help them get to that point over time

You'll be surprised how much they adapt to day care. They may do things for them that they don't do for you. I would say don't stress too much

Thanks so much for the suggestions ☺️ never been a girl for the dummy despite my best efforts but I might try again now she’s a bit bigger.

I get you Teri - she’s doing up at 6:30 and doing a 45-60 min nap at 8:30, a 60 minute nap at 12:30 and a shorter one at 16:40 (maybe 30 mins or so). I tried her on two naps (lengthened the middle one, the first she tends to wake up on her own) but she was definitely over tired and woke up every 2 hours over night.

Great to hear others have adapted! I’m sure they’ll be better than me at it anyway

If you're up for a little change cos 3 naps is absolutely fine we were on 3 til very recently!! Cap the first nap at 30 mins to maintain sleep pressure, middle one 60 or even as long as 90 if she'll do it. Cap last nap to 10/15 mins absolute max to just take the edge off before bedtime. I think that'll be much more balanced for you!! Xx

Can someone pls help i keep making this post and nobody is responding

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

I bloody hate reflux!

How much milk would you say this is?( after a 6oz bottle) My 3 month old is bunged up, full of yet another cold and it's made her reflux worse.

She's already on gaviscon but that's the most shes ever spat up in one go. She's also been teething for the last few weeks too 🙄
